I’m not a musician and have had little formal musical instruction so I don’t get as much from Rick’s music theory content as others would but I still watch because I love music. I watch Rick not just for his content but for his passion, energy, artitude and inspiration. Thank you Rick for everything that you do.

Thank you Rick and I also wish you 8 more TH-cam years. Maybe more😉
Your interviews are not always my cup of tea but the ones I like I truly enjoy. It’s always a thing to look forward to.
The ones I adore are the bass players OF COURSE 😁 and the Bernard Purdie I also adore. I also love the stories within the interviews for instance that Christopher cross opened for Led Zeppelin or that Andy summers knew Jimi Hendrix and Eric Clapton. I like trivia like that.
Again thank you for your contribution to music. See you in the next video. Greetings guru. 😁

And Rick is part of this generous and uplifting addition to all of our lives.

The channel is successful because of the massive respect Rick gets from our musical heroes. He speaks the language, and the guests just open up. They've never had an outlet for discussing their craft at this level.

I think one reason ppl love Rick is that he proved something to us- that the music hadn't died yet, that it's alive and well, it's just hiding under all that digital dust. And each week Rick blows a little more dust off and exposes a larger picture to us. I've always known the songs, but now, I know the stories behind the songs, and I got to hear them directly from the ppl who lived it- that's an extraordinary gift to music lovers everywhere Rick- thank you. And on top of that- us musicians get to learn and improve our craft as well- you can't beat that. To be entertained, immensely interested, and learning to- imagine what a world we would live in if every teacher got such results.

I heard (on a TH-cam video) that people respond to passion, even if they don’t have a specific interest in what you’re presenting. THAT’S exactly why you have so many subscribers Rick, even if most of us have no formal training in music. We don’t always understand your esoteric theory, but we love the enthusiasm you bring to the topic.

What I like about this channel is that you are an honest TH-camr. You are not doing this just for clicks or subs, or putting anyone down. You create meaningful and informative content.
I, too, started my TH-cam channel 8 years ago, and while I am nowhere close to achieving your level of success, it has been a wonderful learning experience for me. Eight years ago, my son said he wanted to be a TH-camr and wanted me to teach him. I had no idea, so I thought the best way would be to start my own channel, just making content that I liked. I found my niche reading children's stories (which was also helpful for my adult ESL students). I am very grateful for the comments from both the children and the parents, who thank me for helping them with their busy schedules.
I like being able to help them; and, likewise, I want to say to you, Rick, thank you for helping me to understand and appreciate music more.

Rick, the keys to your success here on TH-cam is due to several factors. You have both a deep knowledge of music and theory and the skills to demonstrate, add that to your enthusiasm and very likeable demeanor and you put out educational videos that make people want to learn. And on top of that, your skills as an interviewer are hard to top, for many of the same reasons plus your ability to lay back and give them the room to get comfortable enough to be very open. While there are a good number of quality TH-cam music education channels, yours is head and shoulders above the rest.
Thank you for all you do 👍

I’m living proof it’s never too late!
I’ve been a music geek since my teens but didn’t sing, write and record my first song or play a show until I was in my early 40s. I have two albums and over a hundred solo and band performances since.
If I can do it while raising a family of three young kids, pretty much anyone can in nearly any walk of life if you want it bad enough and are willing to put in the effort.
This is such a great video and great message.
Love everything about both your channels. Keep it up.

When I was 11 or 12. I got a Kay starter guitar. I took lessons. I didn’t stick with it. Wish I had! In January of this year I bought a drum pad to start practicing. Still practice a couple times a week. I’ve been watching your channel for about a year. I enjoy it so much! Love your interviews. For an early birthday present I received your 4 bundle with guitar lessons, ear training and theory. So I pulled out the Key and started practicing and realized why I put it down. I don’t have the biggest hands in the world. So I looked stuff up and found an electric guitar( Ibanez Gio). Love the guitar! Been practicing every day. I love music so much! I want to learn more! You are giving that to me! Thank you so much!!

Mr. Rick, congratulations o 8 years & still going strong, but I am not surprised. My wife & I both love watching you. I play guitar, but she just likes music. I think you just have a genuine passion, plus a voice & personality that makes you interesting to listen to, no mater what you talk about. We are in Brazil, but I am from the Washington DC area. There used to be a sportcaster for NBC there named, George Michael who had the same enthusiastic appeal you have for music, but of course it for sports. But this drew people in, no matter what sport he was talking about. You have this same appeal, but with music. My wife doesn't know chords or music theory, but she will sit there with me because we both love how you deliver. Your story about pushing a passion, your aunt (sorry, I forgot her name) who could hear & play music so easily & couldn't understand why others couldn't do the same, your story about meeting Elton John, saying you usually don't get star struck, but come on! It Elton JOHN!!!.I could go on & on, but I will stop. You get so many comments you probably won't see this, but I guess that's a good thing in that It just means so many people love you & we do also. I think you are becoming well known & I bet Paul McCartney isn't out of reach for an interview. Even Ringo. Love you, Mr. Rick. I hope you are on TH-cam for many, many more years.

Amazing video. Educational and very inspiring. You are a "real" person who actually cares about your listeners and "what will they take away" from each video. Every single video I've watched of yours, I come away learning something new.
I went through some tough times about a year and a half ago, on my way "up" - I discovered you. I went from having one guitar, to just absolutely falling back in love with music...I now have 5 guitars, a bass, recording software, microphones and an almost complete drum kit. I have a lot of that love of music, to thank because of you. Keep up the amazing and genuine work that you do.

English saying: "Break a leg", meaning "good luck" in the scene and music world. Rick Beato breaks an ankle, and that makes us lucky to have him starting a musical career...

I love listening to someone who has attained such a level of inspiration and knowledge in their chosen career study that their enthusiasm just overflows and spills out of them. Rick represents the best example of this by far.

Rick, I’ve been watching you for years. I’m not a musician. Six months ago, at 54 years old, you inspired me to finally take the leap I’ve always wanted to. I built a parts-caster and started taking lessons. I’m as good as you would expect but I love it. I look forward every day to coming home from work, eating dinner with my family, and heading to the back room to practice. Thank you.

I would argue, Rick, that your chief talent is teaching and being able to clearly convey musical concepts and ideas. Also your ability to cut to the essence of a complex issue, person or idea which is why you're so good at interviewing people. You have a knack for understanding why and what makes a person tick. This immediately makes people appreciate you and warm up to you including myself. You're honest and clearly a person of integrity. No BS

The thing that grips me to this channel is that it is a celebration of all facets of music. I found it not long after reading Searching For The Sound and found myself craving more. Rick highlights the legends and the unsung heroes with equal reverence. He has forever changed how I listened to music.

Rick, your channel is wildly successful because of its honesty and your youthful energy combined with your obvious love of music and your skill in music production. You speak to US as your friends and equals. You are not talking down to us. You are sharing your enthusiasm for music and your enthusiasm is addicting. You are the kind of person a musician and songwriter like me would enjoy hanging out with and making music REGARDLESS OF FINANCIAL REWARD. Your love of music and your love of SHARING music is obvious and you come across as a guy we would all like to have as a friend with whom to MAKE MUSIC.

Your channel is amazing. I really take great heart from the 'never stop learning'. I am 37 never picked up a guitar in my life and am really passionate about playing it. It really makes me happy. I've been going through your courses and taking the time to really learn about music not just how to play. The ear training is far more in-depth than I would have thought and it's wonderfully challenging. I've said in another comment about how there is so much out there it's easy to get lost because so many are out there doing this but Rick , there is no one whom is out there doing what you are doing like how you're doing it. It doesn't need to be said but keep doing what you're doing.

Thanks for everything Rick! I’m glad you stuck with it all these years. The list of interviews you rattled off is mind blowing! I always take away much more knowledge from your interviews because you always ask amazing and insightful questions, not the surface stuff that most Interviewers ask these music legends. 🙏

I am not a musician, but I have a musical background from studying ballet/contemporary dance. I was trained in understanding classical music and music theory for dancers. I feel it helped me tremendously in my artistic development. When you talk about it's never too late to start learning, you are absolutely right. I do not dance anymore, but the training and discipline I received helped me in learning to draw and paint. I found another passion that gives me joy, and I can see myself doing for the rest of my life. Anyone who's reading this; it's never too late to go after your dreams.😊😊😊

Thank you Rick one of the reasons you are so successful is your interview style is much more like a conversation and that comes through e every time...
I can't remember how I found out about you but I'm sure it was one of your what makes this video or song so great and it just happened to be some of my favorite Boston songs and being a lifetime guitar player musician I was connecting with you instantly and I was hooked from that point on
I have now watched pretty much everything you have release
I was born July 27th 1962 so we have both been brought up listening to the same music on AM and FM so probably have some of the same influences
The great thing about you is that I know listening to a 3 hour long video is likely to be over before I like
So yeah the main reason for your success is despite all of the hard work you put into this with your team the main reason is you
Hopefully we all get another 8 years

Rick, your passion in “sharing” your musical knowledge like many an outstanding teacher is marvelous.
To blend your musical experience and talent to explain, and seriously question other brilliant musicians about their own exploration of the many technical facets of the journey of making music recording/business in addition is truly sharing “passions” publicly is indeed a RARITY.
    Keep on, “keeping on”!
(I am a retired 85 yr old public school music teacher)
You indeed have wisely shared that sacred art of making music! Congratulations!!!🎉

Rick: THANK YOU SO MUCH for 8 years of outstanding and incredibly interesting musical content. You have become the current generation’s music teacher. Remember how much your favorite music teacher(s) impacted your life…and not just musically??? You’ve done and been that for almost a decade now. I truly appreciate your content and those you have interviewed, highlighted and taught about. You’re truly an inspiration. Thank you!

You and The Professor are at the top imo. I’ve learned a lot, laughed and even teared up a few times. Thanks for the insight into the fascinating and ugly sides of the Industry, but it’s the human stories-ups and downs and heartaches that I learn the most from. And when someone or some band can add melody and harmonies and killer beats to that story-that’s when We All win 🏆. Thanks Rick
