They basically already have a 1v1 mode in the arena games. The only difference is that you can pick 2 other characters, but your only allowed to use there assists. Once your first picked fighter dies that's the game it ends right there. It's actually pretty fun and it's a free online way to play. There is also a small twist. Since you have 2 other fighters on your team in the 1v1 there is no limit break bullcrap for anybody to pull off.

You could just do this inside training mode. Turn off heal regn and recovery. And just go to the menu to change your teams. If you didnt want to go back to the character select screen.
Doto the real reason 17 doesnt like fusion is that he knows the next arc his ass is gonna be in is the Super 17 arc, and his power park is gonna be abandoned

It’s good that the mode doesn’t activate limit break but activating lvl 3 spark timer isn’t better lmao, might be worse tbh. In hindsight I think the video would’ve been better if they just both agreed not to spark because basically all that happens is you race to get 3 bars and then land a hit into level 3 with the damage boost. Also idk about anyone else but this is extra interesting to me because even though they weren’t taking this super serious or very prepared, imo you can still really see which characters have a harder time coming in with 0 meter (Base Goku, Krillin) vs which characters have a harder time coming in with no assists (Kefla, Bluku). And which characters can kinda just play as normal and make the game look like it would fully work as 1v1 (Majin 21, Videl). (In other words it’s sort of ostensive about why certain characters are better off as anchor, mid or point or why others are more flexible)
