The set looks far better than I was expecting… but having it priced the same as Rivendell with less minifigs and 2000 less prices is actually insane
@@Minifigz Rivendell has a ton of 1x1 tiles though so it’s not a fair piece to piece comparison. You do have a point for the mini figs but you also get a big fig with the sail barge so I don’t think they are that far off
Respectfully, no. This set should be $350-400 max. The figures are downright bland with hardly any leg printing, there should also be at least another skiff with more of Jabba’s henchmen, 3:28 theres absolutely no detailing on the exterior in regards to blemishes and sanding on the trim (a ship that constantly travels through a desert planet doesn’t have sand marks on it at all??). Not to mention they already charge you $80 bucks for the other half of the scene on the side.
@@uchihajoel3064currently almost finished with rivendell. there was about 400-500 1x1 tiles. so that’s still 1500 more pieces with tons of printed tiles
@@StrykeSZN which is fine. But how do you factor in things such as the sails and big fig Jabba? Do the sails count as 1 piece each? I’m just saying, although it is overpriced, I don’t think it’s as bad as people are making it. Maybe at $450 it would be better priced imo, but I’m also not going to lose my mind over a $50 difference. I think at $400 it would be too low, personally.
@@Minifigz If they included the Desert Skiff and fixed the minifigures (Boba Fett and Bib Fortuna), this set would be perfect at $500.
Completely agree. Looks like an awesome set, but even putting price-per-piece aside, it just doesn't "feel" like a $500 set. I think this one's destined to be the next Hogwarts Express. Probably $350-$400 Black Friday next year.
Oops! Looks like I made the mistake with Kithaba and he WAS a previously made minifigure character in the 2012 skiff.
yep and this version is just a small improvement, thou i like the reuse of the headpiece from the mandalorian set

We live in a strange world where 'Hutt Slayer' Leia is seen as a positive name change - celebrating the fact she murdered a creature. I vote Darth Vader is now referred to as 'Youngling Murderer' Vader in all future toy products.
I personally don’t use Huttslayer because I think it’s positive- I think it makes her sound more badass than “slave.”
Great review! I honestly feel like it was meant to be a $500 set that included everything we got in the Desert Skiff set as well, and then some number cruncher guy said "Make that set separate but don't change the price of the main thing"
not even that, this is 150eur overpriced and the skiff at 80 is at least 30eur overpriced
I feel like this year is by far the most extreme we’ve had for licensed product costs. Sad to say but we might need a price per piece rate for licensed stuff and one for unlicensed.
you are on to something! Good thinking. Also a way to objectively measure the SW Disney tax, which obviously is in the extreme greed category for this sail barge. Almost double the tax of what Lego would try to get away with on SW sets.
76269 with 5201 pieces and 30!!! minifigues (dont count the robot arm for a figure)) for the same price has a 9.6 cents/piece while this has 12.7 cents / piece -> then the barge really looks like a rip-off

Awesome review Jean, is it worth buying day 1, not really sure even with the GWP. May need to wait for Prime day and hope it’s included there. It looks great with some great features, and the mini figs are pretty good, well most of them, but at $800 aud it’s a bit pricy for less than 4000 pieces. Compare that with the Marvel Avengers Tower with 5201 piece and 31 mini figs at a price of $760 aud, for what ever reason it just does cut it unfortunately. Love the channel and keep up the great content 😎🧡🖤🥃

I want it! You made many good points but I still want it. They should have included the second skiff with this set since we have to pay for the other one in the sarlac set. That second skiff should have had more of Jabba’s goons. If Lego did that the value would be much better. So it goes
i see you understand why this is a bad set and thats just the surface of its problem - if u buy it now (without waiting on huge discounts) u just give lego a signal, that its ok to make bad sets for inflated price

You know, I keep seeing reviews where people are getting the paper bags inside the sets and I have not myself seen paper bags yet. Just noticing. The set looks amazing. I cannot wait to get my hands on this one.
Paper bags are because we get the European copies of these sets. Paper bags will eventually make their way to the US/North America!
Thanks for a thorough review! Being a peon who has to wait for the set, I notice something that no reviews have mentioned yet: seems highly inspired by the haslab khetannah. I still dig it, but we got the shaft on c3po, bib, and salacious crumb. I begrudgingly understand the conservatism on huttslayer (lol) leia... 2013 was the best. I get why they gave us some of the alien thugs, and maybe that's more appropriate for this set, but we need yakface. And especially for me. Sy snootles and droopy McCool! Thx for an on point review. I'd agree not worth $500 but I want Luke's lightsaber lol. Take care mtfbwy
if u want the saber, just buy the bricks for it
I really like how you address the slave Leia (yes that the name we used for decades). When i say i want my slave Leia screen accurate with naked hips and side of the legs in a product DESIGNED for adults as only adults could afford that, im called sexist and misogynist and incel (although im married with kids and a wife who knows what i need, thank you :) )
So coz ur a girl, they cant throw the same "arguments" at you :D
So far you are the only reviewer who stood fest against the slave Leia basketball shorts.
To make a perfect slave Leia it would need:
1) plain legs - completely
2) long cloth piece in front and back - lego used cloth skirts before, a bit of printing on the cloth for the gold ornament
3) olive green shoe print with gold ornament on top
4) jewelry armprint on both sides
that would be the ultimate slave Leia minifig worthy of a 500eur set
If you want to cheap on the cloth piece, then use the same leg print as the previous version (which i luckily own) and add the shoe print in addition for extra detail
You can find this level of details on most of the CMF figures for 4eur - so i really dont understand how can they not use top details on a premium product when they use it on a cheap figure product - whats the logic behind that ?

That 2003 Jabba really does look like something you would find in a Dybbuk box :) Anyway, I hate that Lego can bait me with this. ROTJ is my fav movie and although I think this is more of a giant play set rather than UCS, and the price is..well everybody agrees on that, I still think it looks great and probably I'll buy it in a year or so.
If you cant resist, if its for 350eur max - go for it. Im willing to pay that much, maybe less or use VIP points to make it 300, or get doubles and git
Its not an real UCS as i would like to - its too small to fit all the thing that are depicted in the crossection picture - i want that 2nd floor back cabine
If i ever buy this on sale for Kithaba, Woof and Visam (i have the rest) ill use it as a base for a larger true UCS set
Its almost like a difference between the lego UCS and cavegods Sandcrawler (the lego one can almost park inside the cavegods one)

Day one purchase for me.
Also just to say I think the reason they did the Leia shorts is because they can't print the red on the back of the legs and they wanted to avoid her having a "nude" butt look, so the compromise was to duel mold the legs. I don't love it but I also don't hate it too much. The Bib Fortuna headpiece is just unforgivable though.
1) 3rd parties printers can print on the back of legs - how come a multi-billion dollar company cant ?
2) none of the nude figures cares about the nude butt - there was this suimmer fig in CMF and city sets - thong panties :) was never a problem before
anyway how many times do you display such figures from the back ?
3) in the skiff set, they are printing TAN color on dark brown so they could sideprint her ties with light nougat and same on the front
Somebody had an argument that a bend leg would then reveal un-printed part, but thats the same here, you see just red instead of the gold ornament
We know it was a stupid woke move, the same as Slave One name censorship.
Awesome review. I do love the look of this build, however I can't get behind the price, after tax here in LA it would be around $540 ish +. I wish we didn't have to pay that Disney tax. yuck 🤢
I think the term you are looking for is, "big fig." Kithaba is not entirely new. He apppeared in a desert skiff in 2012.

Ill add some more details to the figure selection and handling:
Gamorrean - missing dualmolded legs to see his green legs - looking at my 6" Hasbro figure, the legs are pretty prominent - so another fail with the dualmolded needed but not used, there could be also a second one (coz u never have enough gamorreans)
Looking at previous version sw0405 - it was better that way
Bib - unacceptable reuse of the fat lekku mold - lazy, missing cape (coz cloth is very expensive nowadays for lego) - the printed one does not look right as the combination of cloth and blue outfit which is underneath - previous figure was better
Here he still kind of have white pupils, so it does not look that horrible as with Crumb.
Kithaba - we already had him (sw0397), minimum upgrade, but OK - the headpiece is more accurate - like it (recolored from the mando prate starfighter set). Yet missing doublemolded legs (just plain dark red pants with black booths, maybe even red one that are existing already could work).
Vizam - not totally bad, could also use doublemold legs and the headpiece is not a bad choice if they dont want to make a new mold
Wooof - Actually the best figure but should have a leg print of that wool skirt, new headpiece should be reused 3times (Yotts Orren and Klaatu use the same - just some recolors needed) - we actually could get all of them split within the barge and the separate skiff -> why are they underutilizing all the special molds withi SW line ???
slave Leia - unacceptable, doublemolds shorts used for political reasons only, missing the jewelry on the hands and printed boots (i display mine on studs, i immediately took her off the studs due to the legs cracking issues as this older version will skyrocket in price due to this controversy) - the new headpiece is good (will get it in time to have options for my Leia)
3PO - should have been have been the one from UCS landspeeder and the statue as thats the most correct one (personally dont have him yet, landspeeder was not interesting enough to purchase, statue the same)
R2 - ok, another one to throw on the pile of R2-D2s i have
Max - ok, reused, no fat belly print so no update/special UCS treatment (dont really care since i have 2pcs and he is not really an usable figure outside playing in a band)
Salacious B. Crumb - good mold (recreated), but terrible eyes, previous version was better because of that although this one has all the other details improved - FIRE that employee who suggested we need to adhere to some stupid eyes rules - its not about a rule its about the overall aesthetics of the figure.
Wondering how many people will use a sharpie to paint the pupils back. The fact they have put his face on the box where u see the large eyes is like a slap in your face.
Jabba - just a slight different print, OK (dont care much, i have 2 already)

We should get another skiff with 3 guards (one nikto, one klatoonian, one weequay) and quaren head should be reused here for Tessek
btw Barada (the other klatoonian similar to Kithaba which is not in this set) seems to wear similar pants as Han in Ep4 - blue pants with red stripe and black boots - could be a new piece that would be reused for proper Ep4 Han (actually we should get that piece in the UCS cantina like we did in the UCS Cloud City)

Two of the minifigures that come with this set should have come with the skiff.
not the same, but similar - one of the niktos (Yotts Orren and Klaatu - are recolors of Wooof) and Barada (recolor of Kithaba)
@ondrejm5042 Kithaba was actually on the skiff, and came with and older version of the skiff and sarlacc. I went to my local Bricks and Minifigs, and built my own Kithaba and skiff driver.

I dont recall who was located exactly where in the scene, but the point is that we could get the entire crew Yotts Orren, Klaatu, Wooof, Barada and Kithaba somehow split between those 2 sets and for them its just repaints of the same mold
Alright Mrs Version is back! My two cents, if each lego component is valued at ten cents you can estimate the value of the set if that makes cents...

The build looks good. The new minifigures are uninspired remakes.
Salacious Crumb without pupils is awful. The original was better.
A regular C-3PO is cheap and a loss
Basketball shorts Leia is bad with some nice touches. The hair is great, but it’s going to look best on one of my older versions of Leia.
I feel like LEGO couldn’t decide if this was a UCS (the ship arguably is) or a Master Builder Series (which should have more and better minifigures).
LEGO should have included an episode-accurate Boba Fett and I would have loved more members of Max Reno’s band (those unique figures that won’t typically be in future sets like other Master Builder Series sets).
I’ll still buy it day one because I’m a Star Wars completionist and I know I’ll want the lightsaber GWP. That said, it seems like LEGO took a great ship build and turned it into a meh set.

My opinion on big UCS sets is I don’t care to own big grey ships that are hard to display haha this one fits in a shelf okay

Agree, just watched 3 other reviews, but shes the most critical of it, all the other are addressing only the biggest elephants in the room which is 500eur instead of 300eur and 3PO not the best one. She goes one or even more steps further.

The envelope they came in had a slight bend to it so I was a little worried but they didn’t have any bend or crease to them, thankfully
