- Our wildlife trip to one of the most captivating forests of India. Pench National Park is in Madhya Pradesh state of India as well as in Maharashtra state. Hence it became the first ever Inter-state tiger project. While everyone in the world was preparing to celebrate the new year's Eve, we were arrived in the vicinity of this jungle.
It had rained heavily in the evening on 31st December before our arrival. On the 1st January 2020, our safari started in a foggy morning and the jungle at that time was dead quite. Our excitement was lowering due to the rain, but soon we came upon a track that uplifted our excitement. There were pugmarks of an adult male tiger!!
We spotted 3 unique tigers, first time from a long distance and the second time from a close distance. We also spotted a full grown adult male leopard once, which was more than we expected :). Every wildlife admirer knows that a leopard is very rare to sight in a jungle than a tiger. We also spotted many more wild animals and birds that are equally important & fascinating as well.
We saw Spotted Deers, Sambur Deers, jackals, Indian Gaurs, Wild Boars, Groups of Grey Langurs, Crested Hawk Eagle, Common Serpent Eagle, Peacocks, Racket Tailed Drongo, Flameback Woodpeckers, Rudy Shelduck & Northern Pintails and many more...

I am from Chhindwara (MP) and people of MP will die but they will not harm tigers 🥺
I visited many times PENCH NP because my town is very close to it
One of the incidence I remember when a tiger during summer somehow came in my village area and hunted an Ox
Villagers were not angry with this istead of harming tiger villager decide to build a tank in near forest area and proper arrangements were made to fill up the tank during summer
Each person donated atleast 100 rs for that
Many times tigers , deer and other animal use to come during summer when they are thristy
I proud of my village Umarhar for this extraordinary effort 🥺

Last month, we had been to Mukki gate at Kanha. We could sight a tigress (Chhoti Mada) & her cub (about 1 Yr old) & also slight glimpse of another yigress & her 2 smaller cubs. Tiger in wild is indeed a great sight. That way, we were so lucky. But apart from tiger sighting being in jungle itself is an amazing experience.

HOW ARE NATIONAL PARKS STILL OPEN IN RAINY SEASON????
WHICH ONE WOULD YOU SUGGEST TO VISIT IN MH or MP
Only buffer zones are open in monsoon and that too in few national parks only.
FOR MH:
- Tadoba, Tipeshwar, Pench, Umred-Kahrandla
FOR MP:
- Kanha, Pench, Bandhavgadh are best
And we were there (in Pench) in January and raining in this month is most likely common in MP :)
I visited Tadoba on 25th July & it was raining heavily so could spot only a few animals. So it's better you visit Kanha.
Animal Activity and sightings are really rare in monsoon. You can enjoy the renewed colors of the forests though.

बारीश के कारण होगा, उस समय बारीश बहोत हुई थी. और ऐसें में बारीश से बचने के लिये वन्य प्राणी अरण्योंकी घने भागोंमें चले जाते हैं. पुनः प्रयास कर लो दिख जाऐंगे 😀
