The Ore settings just blew my mind... I hadn't tested it, I just assumed that 3x/3x was better than 3x/0.5x! This changes everything for how I have that ore base set up.
Pro tip: Turning Pal hunger down makes them eat less often, but this also means they will gain SAN from eating less often. Crank hunger depletion up, and stuff their food bowl with Cotton Candy for very hungry but happy pals!
A note about day/night speed. It also increases how quickly pals get hungry. I had hunger rate at 0.5 but day/night speed at 5x and my pals were starving within a few minutes.
I've never played a game that pretty much gave you dev controls. No other game I've played could you adjust half these settings that affected the game play like this. I love it. Like playing multiple different games at once. Like make it easy to start then make it harder as you level. Really is amazing
"Max number of guilds" actually means the max annual of guild MEMBERS a guild can have. I know that because i started playing with a friend so we decided "lets put it on 1 because it’s only gonna be us two so 1 guild is enough" BUT when they joined me and wanted to join my guild, they couldn’t because the guild was at 1/1 members :V
I hate dying and losing everything that's the worst feeling ever glad you can change that I'm glad you can speed everything up omg I hate games that take so long to build I love the exploration unlocking pals finding secrets and item fighting crazy boss flying the hook gun hope they add more stuff

Guys, you know you can 1. Build multiple (for example) axes/weapons and switch them after one is broken. One extra tool per tool type does not weigh much and take up only one slot AND 2. increase farmable amount (gives you more of a material from the same exact rock/tree)
@@k.r.99 Cool, now carry duplicates of every piece of equipment, like helmets, armor, weapons, axe, etc. What's your point? It takes up space and time, your solution is my problem. I don't want to do all that, and the game gives every other option for difficulty tweaking or play experience.
I do like cranking up that XP to 20X. Im all for a challenge, but if Im going solo, I absolutely love throwing hands with bosses as my basic mons provide support. I really only put resources up and reduce incoming Pal damage so I don't get rinsed in every boss fight. It's pretty fun to me lol. Im glad I can modify game settings like that. I really don't have the time to get super invested in a game like this anymore.
Probably already mentioned. But when you change the egg hatch time. You have to take the egg out and put it back in. The hatch time is set when it's placed. Not by what the current world settings are.
I love set night long as can it be, dark pals appears, normal pals sleeping=extra dmg and u can fight just one . At night chest super easy to find. U can allways skip night just by using bed.
You fixed my problem!!! It’s because I did the thing where you went through the difficulty and went passed hard to custom so my game was still in hard mode even with the settings changed!!! Went from 300 damage with the grenade launcher to 25000!
I've only ever played on hard mode with a few custom changes. I've never experienced how much easier most other people have it doing more damage, getting more xp and everything else.
Yeah it's very frustrating, cause they kept cluttering my youtube feed with ridiculous unattainable damage build videos and spoilers for bosses and late game pals waaaaaaaay before I beat the game. The worst part is they feel so braggy about it, like it was their accomplishment, not the settings
If you are like me and have the urge to build walls around some parts of your bases even if its not strictly needed then turning Structure Deterioration down to 0 is a good way to avoid having random parts of your walls just collapse if u happen to place them just a tiny bit outside of the Pal box build area. I learned that the hard way as half of my circle wall came down just becouse some small parts of them were outside the build area. So if your hosting a Discord server and wanna clean up the map then have this on but if your playing with friends or alone turn that off.
I personally like 3x damage + half xp + boosted resource and drops. It stretches the stages of the game out. Playing standard normal I cleared the game too quick and it just was not a balanced grind. Even if you have half xp and need a level up really badly you can go catch a bunch of pals or breed them for a needed level. I played alone on Xbox so gathering resources was the most tedious and the chores end up taking the entirety of the sessions.
well i have been playing on hard custom without realizing it.. the only setting i changed was dropping items on death to none. No wonder i was getting stomped into the ground lmao.
Personally i found 5x xp to be pretty balanced. Where your leveling up at the right amount. I turned that setting to 5 early in my play through and it still tooook me a long time to get to level 50.
personaly i like longer nights and x2 pals but they take tad more damage wile keeping player damage normal that way you can fight with your mutiple pals wile also doing good damage your self but not dying instatly
The devs need to set certain rules for speed runs and name different speed run styles like "Level to 50 speedrun" and "Paldex completion speedrun" and "Beat all bosses" speedrun" and "All of those combined-speedrun"
Yeah I initially thought the Pal Stamina setting was broken because moving it anywhere had zero effect on how long my flying mount could fly for - then on a whim it turned the Player Stamina down and it worked haha
I can confirm this; I just did a few test flights. Shame. I hope it's just a bug. I'd like to be able to fly longer for convenience, but I don't wish to trivialize player stamina management since it impacts the difficulty of combat and fleeing fights.
Pretty sure the "Max Number of Guilds" actually limits *Max PLAYERS PER Guild* rather than how many guilds on server. (Unless that got changed/patched at some point...)

Flying and gliding use your stamina so to get flying to last longer you have to turn down your stamina too. For me that setting didn't work until I adjusted player stamina
Even in Minecraft I always keep my items after death. I just cannot be bothered to go back and pick it up, would rather get back to the grind tbh. Personal preference.
Hay @TheBeardGuys appearance rate on max also spawns 2 of every boss and is a pain in the ass trying to avoid and I also noticed that it decreases_is the shiny spawns just thought of telling you about that
Till PvP or anything like that is added there's no reason anyone should be keeping hunger and stamina default or higher. Just lower and enjoy the game and test more things easier. After a run through though I definitely recommend running a default server for practice for PVP time. If you aren't ever doing PVP then just boost the settings that help you spec into better stats like all stamina points can be work speed now or something. 🤷♂️
I mean, there is a reason people should be doing that, why some games have mods adding it, and why survival games have it in the first people - a lot of people enjoy it. If you don't, fine. Turn it off. Your game, your choice. Don't say there's no reason _anyone_ should, though.

If you want to prolong your testing because whatever reason then go for it but it's a waste of time on a play test first run. 🤷♂️

I accidentally turned the pals damage to me multiplier up to 4 or 5 and my damage to them down to .5 for like 20 levels. It was a rough 20 levels. Alphas were nearly impossible even when I was same or higher level. Big OOF
My incubation time is set to zero yet none of my eggs are hatched instantly, small ones will take about a minute and large about 30 mins, not sure what's wrong?
Make a new egg incubator. The first one will have the default values. Seems kinda odd that even if you have the settings set to zero from the start that the first hatchery still works on default settings. Back out of game, insure your settings are still on zero, return to game and destroy old hatcher, make a new one. Your timer is now set on zero.
I've been plagued by "World Data Unable To Save" for almost 2 weeks. It has made the game unplayable for me. I have no clue how to fix this but what a massive bummer.
My faincé gets "world data unable to save" all the time since he started playing almost a week ago but when he does ""return to menu"" it forces the game to save he's never had a problem doing it that way, hopefully that helps!
That just happened to me last night when I entered the far east beach dungeon. It kept crashing my game, and then my game kept saying it can't be saved with that notification text. But it is fixed now. Can try this. Uninstall game, then restart your console or pc. Reinstall game, load up your saved game. It work for me. Hope it works for u too.
So I was playing hard for reducing the pal spawns to 0.9 because I don't like wondering pals walking pass my base but turns out it just reduce the packs and not the rate of everywhere I look? 😑 Here is my actual problem, I like them allowing me to wonder anywhere but hate them turning my attack to 1point when facing higher level enemies, it's just stupid. Looks like there is nothing I can do about the settings.
Yeah you can, turn your damage up to 1x. I also thought it was ridiculous to do 1 damage per bullet to bosses on hard mode. Or you could leave your damage at 0.5 but then turn damage to pals up to like 1.5 or 1.7 so that they take more damage but you still do very little damage, this also weakens your own pals to incoming damage, but not their damage dealt
Okay, this explains way too much. Customized to remove Egg Incubator time because I had a massive chest filled with eggs and I wanted to tear through that and the breeding eggs I was getting. Proceeded to get a crap ton of damage during raids and boss runs, and even had a moment where I had a Pirin Noct in front of me, I got it to like...10 health and took 19 hyperballs and it didn't get caught..... Thank you man, gonna try to look at the system now, or turn it back to normal mode. Not exactly looking for the hardcore experience, y'know?
pal capture rate is meaningless, does absolutely nothing, its the same boosted or not, I'm missing 99% captures w at both settings, refund is starting to sound good

I usually just change the egg timer and max pals at base. Didn't know the settings were scaled to hard.

Once I max leveled and got to the endgame, I just basically shifted the sliders to make time-sink activities more bearable.

1.5 Pal Appearance Rate starts giving you 2 Alphas/Dungeon Bosses at once
Pal Stamina Reduction Rate doesnt affect mounts - for some reason mounts use player stamina =/

Up means more, and down means less. But right is up and left is down. Dont forget that
The Stamina of Pals only reduces the stamina of attacks; movement stamina is dictated by the player's stamina.

I started a world with pal appearance rate on 2 and have 20+ nights and there's been no bosses with 2 spawns. Only ever 1 of the area bosses still

Apparently, these settings just increase the amount of the last word of the description. Daytime speed increases it speed, while respawn interval just gives you more/longer interval
