Imagine my thrill when I froze the first paragraph and realized I understood most of it! I've only been messing around on TH-cam with French for a few months. Alexa is the best!
Please do more of these videos! They are so helpful with home learning in quarantine. I've been struggling with speaking questions and your TH-cam videos have made me love studying French. 🤓🤓
I have exam tomorrow and I am just watching your videos for my revision! Your way of teaching is very clear and crisp! Merci beaucoup. Grateful for having your channel as my online guide.
I got 55/60 in the writing exam by using these grade 7-9 phrases: “si...(past) je...(conditional) eg... “Si j’étais riche, j’achetèrais une grande maison and also “après avoir (past tense - avoir phrases) or après être (past tense - movement phrases (être)” eg... “Après avoir joué, j’ai dormis or après être retourné, j’ai mangé mon dîner.” Hope this helps :)
Être verbs are devenir, revenir, monter, sortir, aller, descendre, naître, mourir, arriver, tomber, retourner, partir. There’s more but these are used for phrases where you are in a different place at the end from where you started. Search for the mnemonic “DR & MRS VANDERTRAMP” :)

I live in Melbourne, in Australia with my husband Michael. I already have two step children who have grown up. I also have an older sister, who lives in Israel. She is kind and has a good sense of humour. I also have a brother. He is the oldest and he lives in the United States. He has brown eyes and I love him. Unfortunately, my mum passed away. My dad also lives in the United States with his second wife, who is my step mum and we are good friends. I also have nephews, nieces and my own grand nephews and nieces that I really like and miss. Correct me if I've made any errors.
Bonsoir Alexa, chapeau bravo 👏👏 ça c'est le meilleur vidéo de cette année, on a vraiment besoin un texte comme ça pour nous aider à parler, aussi vous avez bien expliqué merci énormément
tell us a little bit about international french exams. I mean like IELTS for english, is there any standard test for french? I want to immigrate to Canad so I'm asking this question.
Hi could you please tell me, which cefr level (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) is GCSE exam targeting? sorry, I am not familiar with this exam. Thank you very much for explanation.
hi, these videos are so helpful thank u! I wondered if you'd be doing the rest of theme 2, and theme 3 N at any point? have my speaking exam in a few days and am v nervous!
Ma soeur est plus grande que moi. Je suis l'aïné de ma famille I can't understand this (l'aïnée) is supposed to mean the oldest one in the family. But it's mentioned up there that his sister is older than him right!!!
Is GCSE the same as IGCSE? I am confused because I take 10 IGCSE French at school but we are not allowed to speak about our family in the speaking exam. Does anyone know the difference? Also your videos are really helpful for my classes because my pronunciation was really bad but because of your videos I think I am improving. So a big thank you.
GCSE is for the UK only. It is the "general certificate of education". The iGCSE, on the other hand, means somewhat the same thing, however, it is offered in other countries. It is the "International General Certificate Of Education" and the syllabus is tailored to meet the worldwide spec. You can check the syllabus guide to see what you should learn. I'm taking the iGCSEs as well. You can use the video for your iGCSES, if I'm not wrong we do have the topic of familial relationships [according the the syllabus as published by Cambridge, in 2022] And oop, just realised I'm two years late to this thread. Well, I hope this helps others with the same question. -Min Y.

L’aîné means eldest
Et
Cadet means youngest 👏
However, that applies if you are a male, Saleem, not if you are a female. So, Alexa is correct
No, it's not, we say " Benjamin " for the youngest
@@suewright1299 th-cam.com/video/Kmd6-rkaKJs/w-d-xo.html
Aine (older)is for males, ainée (older) is for females and cadet is for males (younger) and cadette is for females (younger). Is this right?

Je regarde votre vidéo beaucoup pour prendre français langue depuis un ans... Maintenant je ne pas parler français bien 😢😢😢

Hi ..: in the last sentence madam said l’aîné means eldest ... but in second sentence she has one elder sister sister... ???🤔🤔 can anybody explain ???
Taller, not elder 😀
I have a doubt here... Should not it be like les yeux vertes.... Les yeux marrons???
Please correct me if I am wrong
Les yeux is masculine plural so should VERTS. As for MARRON it is one of these words that never change, even if put in feminine or plural.

brother is frère et sister is sœur
Jonathan Mathis Yes
Would be nice if you spoke less and taught more. Especially verbs . Past present future . Too much talking and music I can do without
you said your sister is plus grande que vous. then at the end you said je suis l'aînée doesn't make sense?
She was talking about the height difference.
@@XTuffyx Got it. thank you beaucoup
how can I say I am the eldest in the family when I say I've an older sister??? something wrong with the ending sentence of the first paragraph
The inication is that the sister is bigger than me but I am the eldest. plus grande means bigger in size/height.
