his voice is imperfect and that add so much depth and emotion to their music
Foxing's music is the definition of beauty
such a raw and emotional band. They bring in a lot of elements from different genres too. Like they're very funky for an emo band, and theres a lot of math rocky riffs in some of their songs. Their sound kinda reminds me of Radiohead's In Rainbows if the album was cowritten by Brand New.

This is one of the most beautiful songs I have heard in a long time. It hits me right in the heart nerve. Lyrically and compositionally wildly amazing.
Honestly I like this album a lot more than The Albatross. Each song is so emotional and painful to listen in such a great way. The arrangements and composition are so goddamn perfect. Even the melodies he sings are so tasteful. I loved The Albatross and how weird and cool the songs were but this album speaks to me so much more. You can tell that they really dug deep for this album and pulled out some hard stuff to sing about.
I discovered Foxing a few years ago right before my second deployment. The whole time I was out there, I pretty much only listened Foxing with this being my favorite song of all time.

For those who don't know, this song is about the character who may or may not be Conor, who is about to have sex with someone, but while this happening, the rosary (that has Virgin Mary in it) is present in this room, and he wonders if her presence is with them, and he wonders if she feels shame for what they're doing in front of her. He uses the words "when they unravel the webs that I've spun, what could be undone" he's basically using the webs as a metaphor for his sins, and when they unravel, when he dies, what will be his fate for this encounter?

Foxing is a damn good band! It's kinda like Radiohead Kid A. It's still taking me time to like all the songs after how good the Albatross was (took me a moment with Rory). But so soo good.

I remember hearing the song the medic by them and falling in love so deeply and a few weeks later I was going to see my favorite band brand new, not knowing who was going to be there bc I'll go no matter who opens for a brand new concert as long as I got to see brand new. at the show I remember feeling ecstatic bc I heard the medic start playing and I was like ARE YOI SERIOUS FOXING IS HERE. and I just about died bc I got to see them unexpectedly and my fave band and oh shit bless their existence.

foxing was fine here, but they now sound like elevator music (2021)
While I do think Dealer delivered more solid songs, I just feel like the overall vibe and production are so much less raw than Albatross. Especially the guitars. I guess just knowing the kind of shit Ricky used to do, I listen to songs like this and I'm just left wanting more; something less clean and glossy.
