- Today, many designers use Adobe Illustrator to try out new designs. Wouldn’t it be great if they could quickly bring those designs to life in real objects, with the click of a button?
Project Primrose, displayed at MAX as an interactive dress, makes this possible with wearable and flexible, non-emissive textiles which allow an entire surface to display content created with Adobe Firefly, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Stock, and Adobe Illustrator. Designers can layer this technology into clothing, furniture, and other surfaces to unlock infinite style possibilities - such as the ability to download and wear the latest design from a favorite designer. This is a great example of how giving engineers time to do weird projects that seem outside the company's normal business model can have a halo effect. I look forward to seeing some version of this in real life.
I am sure you will never ever see something like this in public - beacuse it makes no sense.
Where is the benefit? There is just one WOW effect - but any "normal , not nerd" woman will not wear it.
@@v.gedace1519 well i'm sure it's just a beginning.
@v.gedace1519 doesn't have to be for just dresses. Why are you hating
@@FuckHandlez As said, there is no need and/or market for this.

oh it will, i'd not be surprised if she or someone is fast at work on that lol

Absolutely wild. Stuff like this may have been done before at smaller scale, but the execution here in this case is incredible. Possibly a turning point for fashion and related industries.
Except it in 2018 we had dresses that did this fully rather than just on a front plate.
Reference to Hunger games - Primrose Everdeen and Katniss's dress. Amazing tech.

This seems so primitive (monochrome, big pixels) and yet a premonition of what will be available in few years, with clothes fully customizable, in color, and more detailed pixelization :)
They just created it. Jesus give them time to improve it. Were cell phones always smart phones with touch screens no it took 25-30 years. People always have to be negative about something.
@@amandac8458 Nothing they said was negative? It was optimistic about the tech's potential..? Maybe replied to wrong post? 😊
Adobe product so it will have a monthly subscription for sure.
Digital designers and artists, just got a new canvas to play with, and let their imaginations run wild! Amazing!💚
The experience of watching thi live from MAX was incredible, you can feel the crowd loving it!
Brilliant initial idea! This might inspired by fish scales as the small screens that connected one to another so they can displays many still graphics, photos or even videos. The cons perhaps are cannot be folded and pressed against the body due to vulnerability of the small LED screens, so designers need to concern to place the screens in an area that is safe from impacts or other physical situation. This might developed for interior items as well such as curtains, table runner, sofa pillow covers, etc.
They are not LED screens
Awesome tech. What I love about this personal is that I could feasibly get a style of dress made that really fit you well and suited me. Then just wear that so many times as it can look different every place I wore it.
I came here for all the new AI stuff, but this was my favorite Sneak of the night. What an amazing, beautiful concept.
kitchy and pathetic....
The question is: is it comfortable to use like an ordinary dress fabric or it's more like an armour?
Because if it's not, probably it will be used only in events like that, where you can't even seat.
Right now I would imagine it's a bit heavy and not as comfortable as it would be without all the sensors and stuff. However, if you think about the possibilities with things like shoes, now you have a whole world that opens up because those can actually convert kinetic energy into electricity and be reactive to movement, with little to no impact on comfort.
It doesn't go around the back so it's stiff or expensive or something. I can hope it will be improved.
I like her sense of design.
hold your horses. It's an early--though impressive--iteration.
I mean, this here is a prototype. But take the first IPhone as an example and have a look where we are now, 15 years later
I think it would be, if leds were much thinner and much plentier. If they could put Apple in a thin watch and screen, it is possible for that dress as well. Holographic as well. Hopefully it gets thinner and thinner, smaller and smaller (the bits and screen of the dress), it can be distributed properly for everyone in different styles, we can have reusable dresses, mainly for partying. Like a flip phone for someone wearing it to sit down.
Yet I still would give support to fabric fashion designers if they yet, couldn't convert their ideas into something techy. Nothing is as comfortable as real fabric, and valuable.
This opens up the entire physical world for digital upgrade!! So cool!!!!!!!!!!💚
Yea anything, your car, your face, your body, the sidewalks, buildings, the future is going to fantastical! 💚
Greaaaaaatt that's all I want. Attacked by adverts from every corner.
Fantastical? More like hell
I'm not sure it would be the most positive development for the planet 😕
Can't wait to see this on the runway and red carpets

The marketing opportunities are INSANE!!!
Superb innovation 👌
Geez, I've always wanted this kind of technology lol.
Wow. I think this can have a wide variety of applications such as home textiles curtains bed sheets furniture surfaces wallpapers car interiors etc
That is amazing! Now how do I get Adobe Acrobat to NOT wipe out all the information I put into my document once I send it out for signatures? I have been working with the same document for the last year without any problems, and ever since Adobe's system update about 3-4 weeks ago, the same form is now wiped clean of all information I put in (through the app on my Macbook Pro) once I send it out for eSignature. The dress is a nice to have. The ability to retain information once converting to eSignature is my sanity and keeping my job, and a 101 of what Abobe's OG product of Acrobat should be able to do. What the heck?!?
You may already use the workaround of printing to PDF (as can be easily done in a web browser like Chrome, and hopefully Firefox) to generate an “uneditable” PDF
I absolutely love this invention, I will buy one as soon as they're available ❤🎉
This feels like something a hunger games character would wear, love it
Omg imagine Lady Gaga wearing this with huge shoulder pads 😮❤😍😍😍😍😍 ADOBE YOU ARE GENIUS ❤
She does understand that this is a step towards invisibility and she should be careful? Right? Like this itself isnt close to what im talking about but the idea is a step towards a dangerous direction that wouldnt only apply to dresses
The blend of science and art is amazing!
The ultimate in shallow nonsense for the stupid crowd!
Maybe the next step is an app connected to your smart clothes. You'll take out your phone and select your look for the day. Or select a mode in which your look dynamically adapts to fit your environment or activity. Maybe companies will pay people to advertise their brands on their smart clothes.
I love this fusion!!! technology and fashion will always be connected.
This dress is looking great! Contrast is good and the pixels are getting smaller. Hopefully this will increase awareness that eTextiles really ARE becoming a thing.
That demo sure got my attention.
The concept is solid. And you could probably add to the reflective backing some kind of addressable RGB electrochromic pixel and then make a whole bunch of them standard sequin sized. Transflective displays don't use a lot of power. You might even be able to change the backing to be retroreflective for an even higher illumination gain when viewed head-on.
i wouldn’t say they ARE becoming a thing, doubt consumers will be using this type of stuff anytime soon
@@thefaultinourpizza1513 I have a good feeling about 2024 and early 2025.

Deserves MUCH more hype 🤯
This is the coolest damn thing I have ever seen.
If you could add colors to this, it could be great for blending into environments for stealth purposes.
The physics-esque animations are way cool! But how do you clean and wash this dress?
Adobe charges a monthly subscription and sends you a new dress.
Really good question
i would imagine you'd clean it with the same stuff you'd use on your LCD monitor because the scales are made out of the same material. The fabric part, maybe it detatches and you can put it into the wash like anything else.
Not only how do you clean it, but how do you put the software updates on it?

It doesn't *seem* that wild? We've seen this sort of thing so many times in Sci-Fi that it doesn't feel that dramatic a development in technology to have a bunch of tiles sewn onto a garment that can change colour when you click a button. If this is a revolutionary thing, we're probably looking at the Nokia 3210 version. Also, from a fashion perspective.. its one dress, with one shape - and that particular dress by itself isn't that inspiring. If you could invent a dress that physically redesigns itself at the click of a button - different lengths, form-fitting, loose fit, on-shoulder, off-shoulder etc.. now that really would be mind-blowing!
We're getting there. Color changing like this is one thing that is currently available. Shape changing is real and already exists, but only in smaller demos. Capacitive touch and sending data through fabric is also possible. It's just going to take a few years to tie them all together in to something cool.
Incredible!
Hey guys !!!
Do you also want to see 🍎"Bad Apple"🍎 on it ???
Do you have one that starts of fire?
Add a couple cameras and you have the basis for active camouflage
dress that needs DLC and ends up showing ads, yea im all for it!!!

VERY kewl indeed. Now all women need to do is bring a boleros or shrug to compliment the various changes throughout the day, using the same technology infused within it.
This is the best thing I’ve ever seen. I was gagged the whole time
Electrochromic Polymers?
Or is it like E-ink using electrophoresis?

Based on how it looks in the light I'd say E-ink. Thats the only thing I can imagine that wouldn't look terrible in that kind of stage lighting
Yep and it would explain the color too.

Hey we can use this technology in mobile back in premium phone category of Adobe Appoints me for that

she's a genius!!
How I can produce this in fashion?Did any use it?
THE ENTIRE THING IS A RIGID SCREEN THAT IS LITERALLY JUST A TV ON HER. GGS.
It's not a rigid screen. Those scales you see on the dress are each one pixel of the "screen". They're sewn to the fabrix, so the dress is probably pretty comfortable.
Just AMAZING! 💡
