Honestly, say what you will about Taylor Swift, but she’s said that the reason she stands during every single performance of award shows is because one of the worst experiences you can have as an artist is to perform in front of a room full of your peers and have nobody pay any attention to you, and I really respect the hell out of that

While Sabrina might not have the best vocals, the girl is freaking brilliant and I love her vibe. Such a beauty.
Her lyrics are fantastic. I originally thought her songs were cheesy, but once I saw some videos dissecting lyrics, I gave her some attention and think she has some creative music and great storytelling in her music

I'd recommend looking at the video of her Good Luck, Babe cover. Not gonna claim the Grammy vocals were the best but she can sing well live when she's not jumping around.
I get that the Grammys didn't used to recognize Pop--- to be fair, they didn't used to recognize anything that was going on in current music. Generally, they would nominate whoever their favorite artists were from when they were young who had recently released an album. What I enjoyed so much about this Grammy's was that it seems like the first show that they really got it right... They nominated people who actually are in the Zeitgeist of music right now, had them actually sing at the show, and not just one kind of music... Multiple kinds of music. You were talking about Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett.. now that's someone we would have seen at the Grammy's before!!! That's someone. The Grammys voters were remembered, that Tony Bennett guy. They know who that is!! Who's that young girl singing with him??
I've really gotten into Sabrina Carpenter and Chappell with my girls. Chappell has an unbelievable voice and is a very - there- Even though she uses a mask to perform through and be herself. Which I think is interesting. But I'm glad that drag is helpful to her. She comes up with the most beautiful and unusual outfits and makeup.
Sabrina is funny, and her old-time Hollywood thing is interesting. I don't remember seeing anyone do that before-- definitely not with humor. (Edit- my phone helped me. It didn't make sense.)
Also, I've been looking online- trying to figure out when Sabrina started her Hollywood thing. She wasn't doing it at the metball, she wasn't doing it at the Grammy's last year. I think she started doing it with the "Short and sweet" tour, which hasn't been going that long. If so, it makes sense that she appears at awards shows in a style of the era of her current tour. (I can't figure out why you hate her so much but you really seem to, and it was kind of hard listening to you talk about her.) (Edit- add)
Also, you're making fun and saying that these songs don't go together... Actually, the videos for "espresso,"" please please please" & "taste" tell a story if you watch them one right after the other. They even play the next song note at the end... As though it's leading into the next.

Exactly.They're missing the boat on her and I understand that they're triggered because we all have generational trauma re: Britney, but Sabrina's better than they give her credit for. The vocal coach reaction/analysis subgenre on TH-cam will do a better job of explaining than I could. Taylor brought Sabrina out on tour to sing with her at one point and you could tell Taylor had to work to keep up with Sabrina pitchwise.
Teddy swims and his creative team STOLE windowsen’s design for his beige pearled look, they issued an apology to the designer but still teddy had asked for the garment and knew it was for another artist in Asia but still chose to be a design thief.

I have enjoyed watching Taylor Swift at award shows for a while now. It really shows that she loves music and she loves other people's music... She gets up and dances and really experiences the person who's performing... Which, if you are a performer, is only a reciprocal respect. It made me respect her more to see her do that.

Love this!! Having worked briefly in the entertainment industry specifically on these types of events, I'm glad they did the award shows because if they were cancelled it has a huge impact on so many businesses and lively hoods, from make-up artists and hair to lighting, sound, security, catering, I could go on. People need to work to help them get back to some normalcy.
That’s what I was thinking too. It would be the worst thing for the people living in LA if these events were canceled.

The "Like a poem said..." bit of Abracadabra is the tune of part of Spellbound, I'm a big Siouxsie fan so I heard it straight away. But it was so perfectly done it didn't pull me out.
Instead it was very "get your big coat and eyeliner we're gonna dance in the goth club". It builds on the original rather than just recycling it. And with the Spellbound -> Abracadabra thing, it just makes so much sense.
Also that Gaga make up edit is PERFECTION

I'm an older millennial and was a Britney fan in my younger years too. Your comments about Sabrina always confuse me. You just talk about the repetitive lyrics from the chorus and say she doesn't have good lyrics. Have you listened to her songs? They all have depth, srorytelling, and a lot of tongue-in-cheek references.
right! It hurts hearing them hate on her so much when her "emails I can't send" was so beautiful and deep. I think everyone is judging her skill and talent only based on two songs that got famous only the past few months and not her other songs.

@@W.E.M.L I mean they're entitled to their opinion and I find a lot of their views to be valid not just on makeup and cosmetics but on music as well. I just think it's unfair to judge an artist based on a couple songs that became a trend while ignoring their entire discography. Everyone has a brand and style, Olivia Rodrigo is the angsty one, Sabrina is the flirty one, Chappell is the outgoing no bullshit one.

I was shook by how good abracadabra was. I was shaking when it happened and I immediately was like “I need to know what Johnny and Kevin think of this.” I’ve been waiting to hear your thoughts.
