Beats the heck out of a tent. When a bear suddenly sticks his head inside the tent. Your life flashes into view. I will never sleep in another tent as long as I live. You never think about it, but you're so screwed if he comes in. Because you can't get out, try tearing a tent with your bare hands. Seriously try it. But no one ever thinks of that. I did in about a 100th of a second. Any shelter like you have is 100 times better than any kind of tent. Simple ,cheap, and safe. Peace.
