Most Routers are configured with 2.4 and 5Ghz auto switch.
Some are separately configured 2.4ghz or 5Ghz
The problem is that your camera is a 2.4Ghz band only but your phone and router are connected to a 5Ghz band.
In this Fix I'll show you step by step how to easily connect your Xiaomi camera. This works on all models of camera.

If You have problem with QR code reading - just make a screenshot, print QR code and try to show printed QR code to your camera... After few hours of trying reading qr code from my phone it just works...

I have setup 4 of these units. It’s true it may take a bit time to setup but will always seems to work after but only when you use an android device. It doesn’t seem to work well for iPhones for setup.

Dont worry...It will work in any one of the given ideas on youtube depending upon your luck.. I tried several methods..Neither of them worked.. At last I saw a video taking screenshot of the QR code and zooming exactly in the edges of the QR code..Place the mobile in a plain white or black paper, take the security cam in hand and try focusing the code in different angles.. I guess centimeters also matter..I was about to giveup and place the security camera on the table..suddenly it scanned the code and the security cam worked..Just to provide the genuine information i will copy my comment and paste in the related videos having same issue..
just printsceen the qr code and send it to a non amoled display devices you can use laptop or smart TV

I don't know if I understand correctly, for this to work, you need to have several WIFI (5G or 2.4) networks, and if someone has only one (5G), it won't change anything? Am I misunderstood this guide?
The camera only works on 2.4ghz it will not connect on 5ghz.
After setting the camera and checking that it works fine, I cannot watch live footage while (only) my phone is not connected to Wi-Fi. Why is that?

@@Slavagb Something with your WiFi router settings. Xiaomi ip cam works perfectly with my D-Link router. But with Zyxel I have same problem as you.

I had same problem, wouldn't work so I removed the app and reinstalled it. Its all connected up now

Try to turn on and off your phone wifi and reconnect.

I have just installed the camera and had to connect it with my wifi. Does that mean, that when I’m leaving home snd connecting with another wifi - I won’t be able to see anything anymore ?! The instruction says that I need to reset the camera when I change network . This makes no sense 😮 please tell me I’m mistaken.
No need to reset the camera when you done setting it up correctly. You can monitor the camera from anywhere even outside the country.

Hi, If there is no scan option you can add your device manually.
If you have a router configured 2.4ghz and 5 ghz separately and not auto is much better. No need to do this step repeatedly.
Camera supports only 2.4ghz. Do this method only if you have router configured auto switch between 2.4 and 5ghz dual band.
Restarting your router is a big plus. This camera will work with any router or any Android and iOS mobile phones.
@@TMU07 Hi,for other people . The solution is to make first recognition for camera with Xiaomi phone. Camera not alow other phone .This is problem.After that I become new update on my phone from Mi phone.

Reset the camera. Try to turn off/on the WiFi in your phone settings and try again.

I think the problem is the model of this security camera.
This is the only model that does not automatically connect to WiFi when power is lost. All we do is reset the camera and reconnect it to WiFi.
I have four security cameras; there is no issue when they lose power; they are the same model. It will automatically connect to the network

No need of microsd for connection. Camera will work without sd card.

two of my c200 cannot be detected even on wifi after 6 months. hard reset didnt help.

Xiaomi's UX design department failed miserably. they should really try to fix this problem to make sure there is no possible confusion.

@@jeneltablando2219 I didn't. My wife sort of did. But in a way I don't know how to explain. She somehow used her main phone as a hotspot and then connected both the secondary phone (which is used only for the camera) and camera to it. So it works for her. That's all I know.

@sriram27851 the plug 🔌 that you put in the electric socket on the wall. Changed it and try as many as you have. I don't know why it works but it's works!
