    Great video, I can't get passed the Cinema P3 app, I love it.

      Thanks! Yeah Cinema P3 is great. It has a lot more features for sure.

    Does this app remove Apple's digital sharpening for older iPhones with no ProRes option?

    I'm hesitating between this application or pro video by moment :/

    I wish this app could connect to the Nano II from Tilta, as the BMP camera does. That would win my heart.

    Can I use the Lut features on the iPhone 16?

      I would have thought so but I only have the iphone 15 Pro.

    Great review as always! How about stabilization? It sucks in BlackMagicCam!

    • @SmartphoneFilmmaker
      @SmartphoneFilmmaker  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks! I wouldn't say it's any better in terms of stabilization really.

    Not sure what I’m doing wrong but I have done the exact same settings as this video and it’s not giving me the grey looking log view, like it is in this video

      All good , I figured that you had to double tap the grade that it’s on to bring it to log mode

    Is it worth it for someone without a Pro iPhone? I have the normal iPhone 16.

      Hmm. I would try Blackmagic Camera app (free) and if you find you really want the lut feature then try this app.

    Nice review! Whats your goto at the minute, blackmagic or P3?

    • @SmartphoneFilmmaker
      @SmartphoneFilmmaker  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks. Hmmm. Probably Blackmagic Camera now. Cinema P3 has a great way of labelling your shots which makes organizing your edits much easier, has a great tool for 'fixing' Anamorphic footage so there's no curving on the far left and right AND is only £10. Having said that Blackmagic feels super professional and I feel like they'll come out with more great updates.

    What about stabilisation? None of these apps seem anywhere as good as the native camera app. Reviewers never seem to talk about stabilisation but isn’t a simpler interface going to appeal to out of the pocket shooters?
    Also changing lenses seems to have a quite a lag.

    • @SmartphoneFilmmaker
      @SmartphoneFilmmaker  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I would say the apps stabilisation doesn't feel much different to my iphone 15 pro's and the action mode of stabilizing in the iphone 15 pro is much better but that's the same for any app.
      I also feel the simpler interface will appeal to users who don't want to overcomplicate things however it is one of the more expensive smartphone filmmaking apps out there at £19.99.

    For the price it's lacking a lot of the features you rely on if you're not shooting for just use on social media, particualrly is the lack of audio controls for manually balancing any external inputs. Don't get me wrong for a basic no frills run and gun type of filming it's going to do the job, but then again so would the iphone camera app. Both camera P3 and the Blackmagic camera app offer more for a lot less.

    • @SmartphoneFilmmaker
      @SmartphoneFilmmaker  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes it has started off pretty basic for the price. I would imagine they are looking for a customer base who want to step up their smartphone creating without all the complexities of Blackmagic or Cinema P3. I am with you though and personally prefer a lot more features for sure.

    The problem with Kino is that when you add a filter, the saved file is very compressed with a significant loss of quality. Similarly, if you decide not to apply filters but add it to a ProRes log file, you are forced to save it in the iPhone's gallery, resulting in an HEVC file that is highly compressed. It's a shame that you can't save the file with the filter in ProRes log format, like in the Blackmagic application.

      i notice this too, in fact if you shoot srgb hevc it takes twice as much space than a log with instant grade which tells your something

    •  20 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Do you mean that the video is highly compressed in log/hevc or in log/prores? Just downloaded and not a prosumer. So want to know if it is worth keeping.

    No way of selecting colour balance - a big oversight...

    I would imagine with all the free crap that is passed out to this channel, people in the industry must be watching the comments. I will pay $50 for just a passable camera app with two features. One, no subscription. Two, a remote app. Which I would pay more for. I see a lot of people saying the same thing and I just don’t know why it’s so difficult no one is doing it.

    Great video!, but ... kind of the "same old thing", and for more money than it should be (and honestly never ever cared for Halide). Love Cinema P3, Native camera app, and new Final Cut Camera app. This app seems superfluous and expensive. No new broken ground here, move along....
