I'm curious if looking back you feel like transitioning was the right call? By no means bad job, great job dudes, shit is wild that dog was alive. I just feel like i would have skied down on my split for times sake and am curious if that's something you wished you'd done.

Honestly it might have been faster to re transition back into up hill once I got down to the bottom but by the time we saw the slide I had already ripped by skins off and was halfway transitioned to downhill because we were about to hit a small little jump a few times

Also my buddy after the fact realized taking his skies off at the bottom was a bad idea but where we first started searching the snow was actually pretty solid and easy to walk on but ended up being soft and waste deep in about 80% of the debris

Nice, I just remember in my avy class the instructor being super addimant to stay in tour if you're in tour already. That reasoning definently makes sense. Again good save, fucking almost convinced me not to bring my dog out.

This looks like the rush chute, why don’t yall ski this lol?

I think people skip it because the convex roll slope exposed to cliffs, the weak layers above never get skied so they persist. It’s north east facing, which gets wind loaded, and is usually the most dangerous on the CAIC avy rose chart.
Now again this year, on the same day if I’m not wrong, someone has died.
The accident history is very important to pay attention to.
