Our daughter has the science one from American Girl. We drove from NY to Boston to get it and I dont see that the quality is like $100 better lol. Its the only actual doll thing shes really asked for...ever. Only because she was into science and all the other girls had real American Girl dolls. She was being bullied pretty bad for being a tomboy so we got it. We usually get her art stuff. Shes super into paleoart and paleontology. Shes almost 13 so we stepped it up and bought artist quality this year. Please dont apologize or feel the need to justify how little or how much you got. I was a single mom before my hubby rescued us when Emma was about 3/4. It absolutely SUCKS to see all the things your child would love but you cant afford it. It also is a special kind of high point to go a little more all out and go overboard. They are only small for so long. Definitely put the jeep together. Also my hubby plays classical flamenco guitar (its spanish is all I know) and he said that guitar is really good. He has one the same brand that hes had for over 20 years. He also said if she gets frustrated and loses interest, be prepared for that. Just keep it. Guitar can be a little hard for kids that age but they often pick it back up later. He teaches guitar and he always says often times, parents pay him for lessons and expect the kids to play songs so fast. Kids get discouraged because its hard, it hurts their fingers and the pressure from parents make them lose interest. He has been teaching our daughter and shes been playing just chords and arpeggios for like a year. That guitar is almost identical to the on my hubby plays the most often. He was 15 before he could really play well. He started with piano at 3 and still found guitar a little bit of a pain to learn. There are so many resources on youtube as well. He is turning 50 Dec 20th so he is at least a little salty that he had to learn it all the hard way lol.
Definitely build the Frozen jeep. Last year we didnt build the Dune Buggy we got for my 3 year old and he didnt get it AT ALL and it was sort if womp womp while daddy built it for quite awhile.
I’m always getting my three kids birthdays and ages mixed up. Lol. American Girl is a brand of dolls. They are ridiculously expensive, like $110 for a singe doll, and some of their “accessories” can get up to $500+, so I’d see how well she likes/plays with the Journey girl and how well she takes care of her before investing in a name brand AG doll.🙂
Also, I’d definitely build the jeep and have the battery charged! My son got something similar one year and after it was open we realized the battery had to charge for like 12-24 hours; so he didn’t even get to play with his “big” gift on Christmas Day.🙁
My daughter has never played with dolls and she asked for one in 3rd grade. we drove all the way from NY to Boston to get it and it was like $125. Luciana I think is the one she has...shes into science and stuff. Shes only ever played with it at school with her friends and I think the only reason she wanted it is so the other kids would stop making fun of her for being a tomboy. Shes been homeschool since she was 9 so its been a few years. Shes almost 13 now. It just sits in a corner. My friends kid has the Journey Girl and I dont really see the difference other than the look of the doll...quality looks the same to me. My daughter wanted the space ship for her and it was $500! I was like uh no. She probably would have played with it if she had that but $500 is crazy. I paid LESS for her Nintendo Switch. We did the same when when we got our daughter a John Deer tractor like that Jeep. She about died and then had to wait while it charged. She was like 2 and even now shell say she almost died waiting lol. She says she remembers.
I have 4 girls, and I forget their ages all the time lol - I hate when I’m scheduling a dr. Appointment and they ask me for their bday and I’m like “uhhh.....” lol
I have 1 child...shes 12, almost 13. The almost 13 thing is important for some reason. I end up saying my 11 year old and shes like "HEY!!!!! I am almost 13!!!!Teenager remember!!!!!". Sometimes I forget on purpose now to mess with her. My Mom says shes 10 all the time. Makes me sad every time she reminds me that she will be a teenager soon. Shes never been into girly stuff...always art, dinosaurs, Marvel and the only girly thing is Disney Princesses. She wants to be a paleontologist and artist. I always thought we would outgrow it but we are headed into highschool soon and its still an obsession. Ive never been able to buy her a Barbie.
Sometimes Amazon will price match if the price is advertised online. They will refund the difference. It makes more sense for them to do that than to refund you and pay for return shipping most of the time.

Yes I agree. We got my daughter a Cinderella doll house when she was like 7. Drove her INSANE waiting like 2 hours for us to build it.

The American girl dolls are 115$ a piece so that is the cheaper version but they are both dolls. That one is just not an American girl doll
