    I always look forward to your informative videos, and I’m glad to see you have started a new series. Because Copperbands are so be peaceful, are you worried about the possibility that he may fall victim to bullying by the tangs? Or is it the case, that if the Copperband is established first before any tangs are introduced, then the Copperband will be accepted as the dominant fish by the others? By the way, your Copperband is the finest I have ever seen, well done!

    • @DutchReefer
      @DutchReefer  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Aftab, thanks for your reply! Normally tangs (apart from the regular yellow one) won't bother the CBB since it's vastly different in size and appearance. Tangs usually only show potential aggressive behavior to tang-like fish (or other tangs of course). It is always recommendable to add the most aggressive tangs last to the tank, but I know that's hard since sometimes you want to have a change and you can't get around it. If in the end you do see aggressive behavior by tangs you could always (temporarily) place some small mirrors in the tank, the Tang will focus on that before other fish.

    What do you do about feeding fish when leaving on holidays? I had a copperband for about 5 years, then one year while I was away on holiday, my tank sitter neglected to feed my cbb and it just never recovered from that and died within a few weeks when I got back...

    • @DutchReefer
      @DutchReefer  4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I tried: live amphipods, live baby brine shrimps, frozen cyclops, frozen mysis, chopped salmon & scallop on a piece of pipe, covered with some net. And small pellets. Tried to add brightwell garlic to each type of food; fish V... also no luck. Already 10 days. Because of this new normal, I can only order fish thru online.
    Any tips?

    • @DutchReefer
      @DutchReefer  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oof that seems like you tried most of the stuff there is... If you have a cylindric box like for example a box which in the old days used to have rolls of film then you could try to make some holes into that and put the food in there. your other fish can't reach inside but your CBB might peek into it with his nose. Have you seen him poking at your rockwork at all looking for food?

    • @mrsupersym
      @mrsupersym 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DutchReefer this CBB is still in QT, no rock, just big elbows for hiding. He never hides, is that a good thing or bad?

    • @DutchReefer
      @DutchReefer  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mrsupersym I don't think they hide much in elbows, so you might consider adding a piece of Live Rock just in case. Let me know if the poking station works! And a nope on Nori as far as I've seen!
