I find this quite interesting! Where can I possibly get more acquainted with the Venho AI and its capabilities?

Sorry Jolla, but I still don't get the purpose of this device? Other than two SSDs, and perhaps a 5G modem/Sim card, what makes it different that other Rk3588 based devices, such as Orange Pi 5 Pro for example? Furthermore, why would a company that is already spread really thin decide to develop their own PCBA, and their own hardware to begin with, and also in the process move away from the core product of SailfishOS? I must admit that I haven't paid close attention to the whole development lifecycle of this product, so all of this might be well known things, but I just can't wrap my head around it...
EDIT: Just had a look at the price, and wow, just wow! 700 euros for the device and then, on top of that 10 euros monthly subscription!? And you don't even include the power suply (Orange Pi Pro does, also has 16Gb of RAM, for a fraction of the price)?! One has to ask yourself, who is this device meant for? Certainly not for developers, or advanced users and tinkerers, they will just get the aforementioned Orange Pi for much less money, and run they LLMs locally. Definitely not for your average user, they don't even know the company exists! Hell, I know of a few hardcore Linux kernel developers who never heard of either Jolla or SailfishOS.
And to top it all off, the device connects to the cloud, so we cannot really be sure what it is communicating with the Venho.ai, supplier of the LLMs.
Reminds me of the AI Pin and Rabbit r1, an attempt destined to fail. Such a shame for a team that I've been a fan of from the times of the legendary Nokia Internet Tablets (N810 still being one, if not the most beloved device).

@nowave7 Great question! The purpose of Jolla Mind2 goes beyond just hardware specs-it's a privacy-first AI computer that serves as a personal knowledge hub. Unlike typical RK3588 devices, Mind2 combines hardware with specialized AI software that organizes your emails, messages, documents, calendar, and tasks, all locally without relying on the cloud. This ensures your data stays private. So really, the software we are developing for this purpose is the key.
As for custom hardware, it allows us to build a device that’s optimized for AI processing and secure data handling. Think of Mind2 as an AI-powered assistant that prioritizes your privacy, not just another RK3588 board. Hope this helps! 😊

What would be interesting is to understand better that how exactly this product would provide privacy to the user. We live in a digital world, everything is now "digi digi" and our lives are mostly lived in the digital domain, in the internet and the thousands of social media services it has. So, how we stay private, how we protect our privacy and yet, at the same time are able to use those services? Those services (naturally) want to know as much as possible about us. But most people really don't want to provide anything to those service providers. How to tackle this? Can mind2 somehow help with our need for privacy in this digital era? The hardware as such is really secondary in importance, software is the key to success.

@SailingNema Mind2 tackles privacy by processing all your data locally on the device, without relying on cloud storage or third-party servers. This means your emails, documents, and messages are organized, managed, and searchable only on your device-never sent out to external services.
Plus, Mind2 acts as a smart, personal “AI buffer” between you and the internet. You can interact with online services, but Mind2 handles tasks like summarizing, categorizing, and even drafting responses, reducing the amount of personal data you directly share with those platforms. So, you stay connected but maintain control over what’s shared. It's designed for privacy in our “digi digi” world, letting you use services while keeping your digital footprint minimal.

It really is stupid as a "hyve signalointi" to not include power supply with it. We dosnt have lot of usb type c capable bricks in our offices or homes and we certainly doesn't want to order or go to buy some random ones that work or not with what ever device we need to power up. This trend need to die as fast it come to reality.
