I remember well when these were new cars. A retired policeman neighbor had a red 1967 fastback with a V8 and took me for a ride one day when I was young and impressionable. I couldn't have defined torque after that ride, but I knew what it felt like through seat of the pants. Tony's car is an absolute beauty. The rallye wheels and redline tires really set the car off. Growing up in the USA in the 1960s the V8 was king, and cars with 6 cylinders were typically dismissed with a guffaw. For ease of maintenance, durability, and smoothness, however, there's nothing like an inline six. Tony's car had a nice burble to it and got down the road without issue. It's nice that he didn't soil that sweet slant with a 318 or 340.
So nice to see someone like Tony take the time not only to share his car that he's owned for many years, but to make up a duplicate invoice for the Fury and donate parts for the project as it was coming together! That's a true-blue good guy!
Nice to see an original slant six car , that was not converted to a V8. Definitely will get more looks at a car show than a modified car. Love that red on red.
A 1967 Barracuda, especially with a slant 6 has long been a dream car for me. I feel that the '65 to '67 Chrysler corp. cars were the pinnacle of reliability. What a nice survivor!
Growing up, a block from my house was an intersection with a Ford dealership, a Dodge dealership and a Chrysler Plymouth dealership on three of the four corners. Being brought up a “Chrysler man” like my Dad, I sat in the Ford showroom oohing and ahhing over the ‘67 Barracuda brochure I got from the C-P store across the street (I was smart ass kid!). Thanks for showing us Tony’s sweet notchback, my favorite ‘cuda body style - very tasty in red on red! I’ve owned my ‘64 ‘cuda (273 2bbl push button )for more than 35 years and it really does do everything a car needs to do. Cheers, and see you Saturday.
Very nice Barracuda! Dad had a mint condition 69 Barracuda fastback, 318/904 in a dark metallic green with a lighter green interior back in the late 1970s. In 1980, he wanted something else, so he said he would sell it to me for $600, on a payment plan for this teenager! He wanted help one weekend to do the brakes on moms car, but I went out with friends instead & when I came home, the keys to aftermarket hood pin locks didn't fit my keys. He was mad! He sold it to some guy for $1000. Dad died 10 years ago now, but I was going through some of his old paper work and found both the receipt made out to me, and the one for the other guy for the $1000. Lesson learned! Don't tick off your dad if he has a cool car to sell you!
Great that Tony kept the /6! They are a fantastic engine! I've owned a '78 Dodge Aspen base wagon with the /SuperSix and four speed "overdrive" trans now for over 10 years. Don't ever plan on getting rid of it. It's lots of fun to drive and gets lots of thumbs up when I do.
John h Palmer I have a BIL who had one just like it, if not the Aspen, it was the Volare wagon with slant 6 and 4spd, and it was dark red with the parchment (I think) vinyl interior. Basic, yes, and had lots of miles on it when he had it in the late 80's.
Sweet little Barracuda! A real treat to see one with a Slant 6. I was distracted, however, by something in the background: an exquisite GY8 1972 Newport which I couldn't help but stare at, with eyes bulging out of the sockets ☺

These were under appreciated cars back in the day. 2, 3, 4 hundred bucks depending on condition. Listening to that slant 6 start up brought back so many memories. My 67 has not been tarted up. Quite the opposite, I pulled off the stock wheel covers and replaced them with dog dishes. It still has the original slant 6 and three on the tree.
Actually I’d leave everything the way it is. But, a stock 340 with flowmaster duals out the back with factory chrome tips. And it’s a notch back. Way impressive. What a find.
Afternoon from the Great Southern Land, what a great looking old girl. There is a few A body barracudas and stuff in this country all brought in left-hand drive usually and some converted to right and drive with local valiant parts . It’s very rare to see a 6 cylinder one, as most people repower them here. Been meaning to comment on Saturdays and Thursday video from last week. It was truely great to see how happy the old owners of the Fury were to sit running and driving and in amazing condition again. Was very tickled pink to see Stevens Saab addiction get worse, I really love seeing the Saabs. Also it was great to see the Dodge Ute that Paul has picked up, older Aussies call these vehicles utes not trucks because a truck is bigger to us, more like the ubiquitous grain truck that is common to old farms here and over there in Canada and the USA. Anyway great work as normal Scott.
Talk about bring back memories. I had a '68 fastback version with a slant six in whatever they called their blue colour. Even had the same hood decor as Tony's. Love it! Thank you both so much for showing it off!!
Oh, I just love that slant six Barracuda! Just like the straight six Camaros and Mustangs I feel like they are a much better representation of what the average Joe would have been able to buy than all the souped up, ultra-powerful V8s seen on car shows.
Awesome 67 Barracuda! I imagine there are dozens of stories tied up in every detail of the car as it is so well maintained, it would've certainly hurt to witness breakdowns or damages. So glad Tony is keeping the daily driven look making it more approachable almost inviting closer inspection from passersby. Tony knows how to enjoy a classic car by not blowing the bank on a trailer queen instead he maintains the vehicle as is and enjoys nice days in the coolest way.
What a treat, indeed! I honestly thought it was resprayed at some point, but the wear marks in the paint don't lie. It's a gorgeous color, too. Not only is it rare to find an actual survivor car that's still this stock and original, it's even rarer that it's still driven by the same owner for decades.
Bravo to Tony for keeping this sweet old Barracuda going, and for keeping it original. If there ever was an audience that would appreciate this car, it is the CWM viewers, like me.
A friend has a 69 with a 318, had the Mod top and the mod interior, with standard steel wheels with hub caps. original owned since the early 70's. Surprisingly, no rust
Absolutely a treat to see! I love the Slant Six! I had a 63 Valiant with the Slant Six in it! I got mine in 1979 from a little old lady who forgot to set her brake in a parking lot one day and it rolled head on into a light pole! I put a front clip on it and a paint job in the original color! Best little go getter I've ever owned! I paid 700 when I bought it and two hundred for the clip and paint! Sold it in 1987 for two thousand! Now I wish I'd kept it!

I’m usually the first one to say hot rod it but not with such an incredible survivor as this car. These original cars are really a time machine to the driving experience of the period that only cars like this can provide.
We had a couple of old boys that lived in out home town, one guy was short and the other was 6'6 they rode around in a torpedo back in that of white cream color. 273 small block Perfect from a distance. Much like that one in original form
Nice to see a northern Alberta car so original still on the road. I also have a 69 fastback i found that was almost converted into a race car but was abandoned and parked in Grande Prairie on the side of a house. Today i have it on the rotisserie and it will be street driven. I have converted it to B body disc brakes. This winter it will have the DANA 60 style diff installed. It was a 318 bucket seat console automatic car in green but now it will be a 440 + 6 manual car for go to work and shopping duties in all black. I love old cars and own 6 of them. After i finish this one my next restoration is the 1965 convertible 4 speed Mustang i found for a hundred bucks with papers. P.S. I love how Canadians are so laid back and not as loud as our southern brothers and sisters as well as the fact that we are not as paranoid about showing licence plates. Now all that is needed to to send the crime minister on his way and this country will be great again.
What a great car! I had a '68 Valiant slant six, 3 on the tree back in the late '70s, early 80's. Drove all over the eastern half of NSW and up to Bundaberg. 4 people and we had to jump on the boot to close it with all the camping gear! 145hp was plenty!

Awesome old rig, I used to own a 77 Valiant Charger, with 265 Hemi engine and 3 speed on the floor, strong motors, Chrysler used to have a good name for reliability, and power, thanks for sharing, all the best to yous and your loved ones

My first car was a 69 Valiant with a 318 that was left to me when my grandpa died. We called it the Beast and I loved that car. Wish I never got rid of it 35 years later

Pretty funny video, really enjoyed it I’m building a pumped up slant six right now. 68 barracuda fast back, 3 on the tree, UU1 frost blue with all blue interior, radio delete, and only lap belts (only ‘67 built ‘68’s could legally come off the line with no shoulder belt) Good chance you’ll see me out there as I’m right next door in Beaumont !
Man the sound of that Slant Six starting up and running sure did bring back the memories of the 5 Darts and 1 Valiant I owned many years back. mainly my 1969 Dart Swinger with the Super 225. I did however convert it to power steering from a junk 69 Slant Six Dart GT. Beautiful Barracuda for sure

in 1964 my uncle Buzzy had a Barracuda fast back? and he got a new one in 1967 it also had the vacuum gauge! I spent many hours in the back of those cars going on water ski trips when i was 13-17

Hi there! Another sweet car you rarely see these days. Sadly the vast majority of Chrysler products in general either were destroyed in wrecks or rotted away from road salt from winter driving in this region. I'd be afraid to drive something like that much. Last week a local restomod '63 Impala was rear-ended by a kid in a Kia that was texting while driving. Kia was toast & the Chevy was bent up but was very much driveable. Thanks for sharing! Looking forward to Saturday as always! Take care!
Just 2 weeks ago a yellow 67 fastback with a slant 6 came up for sale. It was near mint and looked stock for $14,500 near Detroit. People around here drive 75-80 MPH on the interstate so you definitely need an overdrive transmission if traveling on the freeway.

That is a Mexican Spec Barracuda for sure. Slant 6, no power anything. That is how we got them all.

I love how Canadians are so laid back and not as loud as our southern brothers and sisters as well as the fact that we are not as paranoid about showing licence plates. Now all that is needed to to send the crime minister on his way and this country will be great again.
What a great car! I had a '68 Valiant slant six, 3 on the tree back in the late '70s, early 80's. Drove all over the eastern half of NSW and up to Bundaberg. 4 people and we had to jump on the boot to close it with all the camping gear! 145hp was plenty!

My first car was a 69 Valiant with a 318 that was left to me when my grandpa died. We called it the Beast and I loved that car. Wish I never got rid of it 35 years later

I’m building a pumped up slant six right now. 68 barracuda fast back, 3 on the tree, UU1 frost blue with all blue interior, radio delete, and only lap belts (only ‘67 built ‘68’s could legally come off the line with no shoulder belt)

Man the sound of that Slant Six starting up and running sure did bring back the memories of the 5 Darts and 1 Valiant I owned many years back. mainly my 1969 Dart Swinger with the Super 225. I did however convert it to power steering from a junk 69 Slant Six Dart GT. Beautiful Barracuda for sure

in 1964 my uncle Buzzy had a Barracuda fast back? and he got a new one in 1967 it also had the vacuum gauge! I spent many hours in the back of those cars going on water ski trips when i was 13-17

Hi there! Another sweet car you rarely see these days. Sadly the vast majority of Chrysler products in general either were destroyed in wrecks or rotted away from road salt from winter driving in this region. I'd be afraid to drive something like that much. Last week a local restomod '63 Impala was rear-ended by a kid in a Kia that was texting while driving. Kia was toast & the Chevy was bent up but was very much driveable. Thanks for sharing! Looking forward to Saturday as always! Take care!

I had an identical one but with white seats and door panels. It was an estate car dad's banker found. It was another car my sister totaled .
Just 2 weeks ago a yellow 67 fastback with a slant 6 came up for sale. It was near mint and looked stock for $14,500 near Detroit. People around here drive 75-80 MPH on the interstate so you definitely need an overdrive transmission if traveling on the freeway.
