Middle Tennessee State, where Hamm played, is the largest university in the state of Tennessee. They actually have more students (29,000+), than the University of Tennessee (26.000+). It is located in Tennessee's 4th largest city (Murfreesboro, which just overtook Chattanooga in population) and is only 20 miles from Nashville. The difference is that most of Middle's students commute on a daily basis instead of being housed on campus. On a side note, Murfreesboro also has tons of Michiganders there due to being the home of the largest Nisson plant in the country. Plus, the old GM Saturn plant, which is near by, now builds several of the Cadillacs models. Many people relocated here from Michigan when those plants opened. Therefore, there are tons of Michigan Pro/collage sports fans there. The more you know!
That's how I ended in middle tn myself. Grandfather went to MI in 49 to work for Cadillac. Retired in 79 came back to middle tn. He loved al kaline. I was too little to remember 84, but Alan trammell was who I wanted to be growing up.
A good ffeilding 3rd baseman is a topnotch direction for the Tigers. Anyway, my choices, in order, would be: Bregman, Bohm, Jace, & Arendo, (keeping Vierling in mind as well). All favorable. Of course, im not fully aware of all of who else is out there.
I find it interesting that everyone says the Tigers need to land a 3rd baseman, whats the problem, Jung was a late season callup, not many atbats when you consider he was a rookie. Oh thats right, people see hes not a MLBer yet.. Heres the kicker, Jung needs major change in mechanics, has potential as a hitter because he has an elite eye, half the battle is identifying whats a strike and what isnt.
Interestingly enough, Arenado could potentially be the cheapest option for a third base upgrade. This is, of course, factoring in the willingness of the Cardinals to send money to potential takers (them eating part of the contract isn’t off the table either). Another facet of Arenado coming to Detroit is that it’s also a short term deal as well; Arenado’s only on the books for three more years, so it would keep the door open for other acquisitions in the future. All in all, I’d be in favor of Arenado coming to Detroit despite his decline in recent years. 2-3 WAR doesn’t sound like much, but it would be huge for this team going forward.
Old guy here, posting about maybe an unrelated topic----- When I was a kid, Bat Day at Tiger Stadium. Everybody striking their bat on the floor, chanting "We want a hit! We want a hit! Freedi Freeman is one of the biggest phonies in sports. When the Dodgers held their anti-Christian blasphemy, Freeman as one of the high priced vets was silent, total disgrace, Freeman could have ended that nonsense by threatening to not play that day or atleast said something publicly. hes whats wrong with baseball.
And the Jobe hate starts now. He hated for years on Olson and now it’s Jobe. FYI the Tigers get an extra draft pick if Jobe is on the roster on opening day and wins ROY
@@HATT4567You would have to admit though that the Twins folding the way they did down the stretch played a part in that. They also need to make improvement in the hitting department, which is also generally recognized.
I don't think Harris will spend a ton of money (I think he's on a tight budget), but I do trust him to improve the Tigers for 2025. I expect the tigers to win close to 90 games.
Please stop with the advanced analytics, they really mean nothing. A fan of this team can tell easily if a a guy stinks, and a whole bunch of these Tiger hitters fill that bill.
Agreed on the Arenado commentary, he's fully on the downswing of his career.

Middle Tennessee State alumni and resident here!
Hard no on Arenado.

This roster will be based on what we gain or lose trying to pickup Starting Pitchers. So until that happens everything is case closed at the moment.
They'll pick up one or two starting pitchers on one or two year deals. I don't think they'll trade for them.

If the Tigers had 2 or 3 for sure power hitters they might but haven’t shown it I could accept Arenado but they need guys to drive in runs first
"Hamm is no Jackson Jobe!" Newsflash...most pitchers out there in the minor aren't "Jackson Jobe"! The dude is a monster compared to the rest.
And the Jobe hate starts now. He hated for years on Olson and now it’s Jobe. FYI the Tigers get an extra draft pick if Jobe is on the roster on opening day and wins ROY
Calm down big boy
GO GET NOLAN ARENADO!!! My dad has been wanting Arenado for a while now, We could get him on this team!!
Javy II, the sequel, is what we would get! We have to think with our heads, not our hearts!
Harris will sign no one of note. He has already started working on the current trash heaps. We also don't need any more 34+ aging players. Yikes!
The current trash heap made the playoffs

@@resetthis9838 winning record..my point was that this team isn't a trash heap as the post said

Arendo, No thank you!
No thanks on Arenado
21 minutes into the show and 75% of the time is used up by you repeating yourself 10 times on the same point.
No thanks !
You skipped the awards again because you repeat yourself to much. You ran out if time.
