I love these deep-dive updates! So many channels focus heavily on value, mechanics or mins so it’s refreshing to see your videos that also focus on other aspects like theme, setting and characterization. Please keep these coming for Sanko and ATO :D
Thank you for keeping us up to date with this game. Defiantly can't wait for them to drop a final launch date for the campaign. It's growing to be quite an impressive game for Axis Mundi. Looking forward to more uploads on this, hoping you'll cover them. Thanks again. The minatures look intimidating, do to the fact they they will need assembly. Other than that, they look incredible. Can't wait to assemble and paint them. The detail is fantastic.
You’re very welcome! It’s the only game I’m seriously considering backing at the moment so you can count on my continued coverage ;) As for the assembly, I can attest to its complexity. If you’re a painter, it’s very likely you’ll be painting in parts (at least that’s how it was for Katsu) prior to assembly. I’m also hoping we may have a launch date soon!
@@WaitYourTurn Intimidating assembly for sure here. Though already saving up to go all in when this launches. So not intimidating enough haha. 🙃 Glad they seem to be getting everything together. Maybe the wait won't be as long as I expected for the shipping date. Easily my most anticipated game on the horizon. Thanks for the response and for keeping us up to date!
Thanks for the video. I wonder though, due the informative cards and combination of mechanics: Do you have any experience with (/opinion about) Mage Wars Arena?
@@WaitYourTurn I thought that it might have combined 2 games that you were inerested in lately: Mage Noir and Sankoushin... Maybe I'm wrong but I think that you possibly likeMage Wars. Yes, it is a lot of details, required learning and engagement and obviously a partner, but I think that once you'll get it - You might like it. But I also don't think that you will give it a real chance.. I don't know... Just a feeling...
Im looking forward to the KS Pledge date. Curious if you think it will be immersive, like KDM. I'm waiting on the 2022 Black Friday sale for KDM. And since they are both expensive, I was wondering if I should skip on one?
Sadly, looks like they've paused their launch indefinitely as of a couple weeks ago. And so the wait continues... a penny saved as they say. As for "immersive", the main elements of Sankokushin that have that immersive potential are the 'Social Bonds' of the NPC's relationships (micro-factions) that adjust based on your actions and, of course, the psychology system in the combat system that adds depth to how the player interprets the personalities of the foes they face. This is quite different from what makes KDM immersive in my opinion but leans more towards what makes Aeon Trespass: Odyssey immersive with their faction system. For me, KDM's character generation and progression is the addictive/immersive element that keeps me coming back. It's difficult to say whether Sankokushin's interchangeable stance abilities and ki/tension system will have that similar pokemon-like growth I've grown so fond of in KDM since it's one of those emergent elements that is difficult to see without multi-session play over time.
@@WaitYourTurn Yeah, I read their update (on Sankokushin), and I’m using some of the money I saved for this game on “Dawn of the Zeds” and “Haplomachus Victorum”. (Which I have already received, and am currently learning how to play ). After a lot of research on this game, I’ve chosen to abandon it. I will not be getting on the Sankokushin train again. Just too many unanswered questions, and a few red lights, that I feel very uncomfortable about. I got caught-up on their miniatures hype, and their awesome artwork. But I was never really sold on the mechanics of the game. And more importantly, there were zero reviews. Especially from well-known reviewers and content creators. (Which was a big red flag in itself). You’d think a game with this much hype would be willing to share their game with well-known reviewers to get their opinions. Oh yeah…I’ve since purchased KD:M as well (v1.6). Thanks for the response.
100% understandable. I will correct one misconception though, Axis Mundi has shared a print-and-play version of their game (the first fight with the Karakuri) with myself and a few other members of their community. I believe Fen is also a bigger reviewer (and now collaborator) that has played and can vouch for the combat system itself at least. I enjoyed its fluidity but that was already two years ago when I last played it. For fun, here were my thoughts from back then: th-cam.com/video/rfl_5Zg9lyE/w-d-xo.html And another one regarding the combat and psychology system: th-cam.com/video/iPAUj8vCcaE/w-d-xo.html Their latest update even mentioned putting out gameplay on tabletop simulator which will be interesting to see how that plays out. Anyways, not trying to convince you or change your mind about anything, I'm also cautiously optimistic about how all of their ideas come together in X years from now. I hope you're enjoying KDM in the meantime!

I just started playing DS3 because I recently picked up a second-handed DS the Board Game. Bloodborne is the next game I'll be tackling... once again, because of Bloodborne tBG lol. It's so weird to have board game influencing my decision to play a video game, and not the other way around as it was designed to lure the fans of the franchise instead.
Haha! Sankokushin hasn't reached Kingdom Death's MO quite yet! They seem determined to launch this year and I think they'll manage to do so -- especially since there's not much competition on KS at the moment (as far as I know). Such a strange coincidence! I finished watching DS1 and I was surprised by how much the world design impressed me compared to the combat. How could a world be so maze-like and yet interconnected at the same time??? Blew my mind.
Last we've heard, Axis Mundi Games confirmed the project's launch for this year (2021) back in February. However, they didn't specify which Quarter. Obviously, it's not going to be Q1, definitely not Q2, probably not Q3, and likely Q4 2021... if not Q1 2022. However, they seem fairly adamant about launching for 2021 so that's where I'd put my money.
@@samhs101 It was originally, but they've decided to finalize the plastic production samples for many (if not all) of their miniatures before launch. This probably isn't the only reason for the postponement but they're getting very very close to launch! Make sure you join their fb group for up-to-date info!
LOL, I know I know. Thanks for being patient xD Believe it or not, I filmed this video the week of the update. With a little luck, things will clear up soon.

As always, your enthusiasm is infectious. I've been ready to go all in on this for a while....just waiting for that launch....
Haha, this will be one of those few kickstarters I'll be ready and waiting for the seconds leading up to launch!

Very true! For them, the game was conceived at the beginning of 2018. I'm sure they're just as eager for launch!
You'll love Bloodborne. I played it for the first time a couple years ago and I've literally thought about it every day since.
When is Sankokushin launching on kickstarter?
