Well, my FJ62 series Land Cruiser Sahara, which I've owned for 25 years has done over 700.000km very few mods and original drive train apart from rebuild transmission, bigger tyres and bullbar, winch etc is ready for its next trip to far north Queensland. It's done many across the country. Literally never has me walking.

That's crazy man. And much more environmentally friendly than swapping out your car every three years. Ironic that these do-gooders are probably looking at your car thinking that it's the worst thing for the environment

@@je2338yes I have to say, even with the amount of fuel it uses, it's been the cheapest car I've ever owned, I'm 63 now and the thing will outlast me. it's on LPG as well still, even less pollution. I only use it on petrol in the outback, no LPG available. Other than that it's a daily driver. God bless.

2013 manual Dmax with 200,000. Only problem so far was a slave cylinder that got replaced at about 70,000km. Oil and filter get changed religiously every 10,000km

As for the struts, I made a strap with a loop at each end and just hook it over the glass latch and my roof bar.

I had a 2009 D-max and never had clutch issues even now being at 210000 k. It was a well known issue with the early D-Max that affected some but not others.
I also added a Department of Interior console to give more storage and the much needed cup holders. 😊

Great video thanx. I've got an 08 Colorado auto with 330000 on the clock. Runs well and have done The Cape and Gibb River Road towing a small camper trailer. No major problems yet and am about to head off on another 2 or 3 month trip. Based in Adelaide. Ive fitted an adjustable chip and can say it was probably the best mod so far. Better fuel economy and performance = win-win. Also have air bags and agree, keep your pressures low and dont over load your vehicle.

I think you might have your wires crossed when it comes to timing chain, it does not need replacing as do the belts on the regular but as chain stretch they do need changing at some point. Just something to bear in mind

@@nomadsandsam belts need replacing on the regular but chains don't, chains how ever do need replacing when they stretch or the chain tensioners wear out. Just because it has a timing chain doesn't mean it never needs replacing. Something to think about so you aren't caught out
