Chandpur to Shariatpur Ferry Travel

Ferry services on Chandpur-Shariatpur route resumed after a nine-hour halt due to erosion by river Meghna that devoured pontoon and adjacent areas. Chandpur Harina Ghat manager Imran Khan Ruhan feared that the ferry services would again be halted at any time. Earlier, the authorities suspended ferry operation at around 3:00am after a portion of Harina Ferry Ghat went into the river. Two ferries-Kishari and Kolmilata-were forced to anchor near the Harina Ghat with numbers of trucks and passenger buses as serious erosion obstruct them to anchor at the ghat. The disruption in ferry service is causing immense suffering to the commuters of the route as hundreds of vehicles got stranded on both ends of the river.
Chandpur (Bengali: চাঁদপুর) may be a district in an eastern Asian country, situated at the mouth of the Meghna stream. The Chandpur district is run by the city Division, the second largest of Bangladesh's seven body divisions.
The Chandpur district incorporates a total space of one,704.06 kilometers-squared (1,058.85 mi). The district is seagirtby the Munshiganj District and Comilla District Districts to the north; the Noakhali District, Lakshmipur District and Barisal District Districts to the south and also the Meghna stream and Shariatpur District to the west.
Chandpur may be a blending of 2 major rivers, the Padma (the main branch of the {ganges|Ganges|Ganges stream|river} River) and also the Meghna River, that converge close to the city of Chandpur. many importanttributaries of the Meghna stream flow through the Chandpur district, as well as the Dakatia stream, Dhanagoda stream, Matlab stream and Udhamdi stream.
