Drukpa Kunley was a Buddhist saint who lived in Bhutan in the 15th century. He was known for his unorthodox methods of teaching Buddhism, often using humor and sexuality to convey his messages. Legend has it that he subdued demons and converted them to Buddhism using his phallus as a weapon.
The phallus symbol in Bhutanese culture is not just about sexuality; it’s about harnessing life force, promoting fertility, and warding off malevolent forces. So, the stories behind phallus-shaped settings and sculptures often revolve around these themes of fertility, protection, and the power of transformation.

Because going to Bhutan is like going to North Korea ! Is very hard to get visa ! Only with special Bhutan travel agency ! Also is very expensive !
There are not many people in bhutan so most places there are less people so basically its peacefull and empty

There is an entire village in bhutan where such pe*** shaped items are kept in entire village and also there exists shop. u can even buy one of them in various sizes. Its believed that in that village this saint who resided and preached. On hill top of that village; there is a monastery of him.
