Blake J : It's a really simple strategy game that allows for variety and luck. But that luck is only based upon the tiles you draw, the rest is up to you! It's a fantastic short game that is fun with kids/young adults and seasoned gamers alike!
Robert Sillas I made a nicer board for the game. I don’t think it’d throw the game off you increased the size. th-cam.com/video/B0U9QH2XevI/w-d-xo.html I kept the squares roughly the same size. I’m so happy to see the game get re-released! Tempting to pick up a copy of the new edition
I bought the game, it comes with a good pamphlet, explaining the game, the first thing I learned about the game the pieces that come out of the bag have a starting side
I love the Duke but I'm pretty disappointed in this. Sure, it adds the Arthurian Legends expansion but for a redux, I expected more. A nicer game board would have been welcomed and why not include most (if not all) previous expansions?
Don’t forget the bags they included. Some really Shitty material right there... I really hope the folks at Catalyst Game Labs eventually publish a 10th anniversary edition of the game with better components overall and a couple of expansions included. I think I will contact them and suggest them the idea...
@@ElPantera237 : Agreed. I bought some nice velvet-like pull bags (for cheap!) as soon as I got the game. It's strange to have nice quality tiles, but then have crappy bags and a better board would be most welcomed!
I definitely prefer the Duke, but they are different enough where I'm glad I own both. Onitama is easier for a lot of people to play and plays very fast so it's easy to get players.
I like the original Duke better than Onitama/War Chest.
Love this game. So very underrated.
This is looking like my next purchase. Looks like a simple to learn but difficult to master game. Thanks, Tom!

I have the original and most expansions. Is there anything in this version of interest?
Interesting for sure, but I have Onitama so it doesn't feel like I'd need both
I'm not sure all chess players like the Duke, because there is a luck factor in it.
Gotta put this one on my bucket list. You don't see too many games with such a plain board, but they make it work. Thanks for the review Tom.
I love the elegance of this game's design!
For the people who played this, would it throw the game off if you made a bigger nicer board, or does it have to be on the same size board

A bigger board with the same amount of spaces wouldn't impact the game. Adding spaces however would certainly change the game.
@@blaze0015 Ok, I appreciate the response

You can download a PDF file that is a copy of the instruction manual
It reminds me of both War Chest and Onitama but more complex, I don't know if my brain can handle this xD

I talked to support recently, previous expansions aren't considered Canon anymore and moving forward future expansions will be the supported ones

This or Onitama?
Personally, I prefer The Duke, but both games are great.

Best part is there are no numbers and letters on this board
Love love love this game 👏
Its a beautiful game but I'd rather play onitama or chess over it
Jarl is better. Fite me!
Looks super boring to me. Hard pass.
