Great discussion guys. Jon's approach shot process helped me take 6 shots off my hcp last year, 7-1. He and Adam have really helped my overall game not only in scoring but oncourse enjoyment. He's a must follow for anyone wanting to improve their game.
I have a goal to play in an amateur tournament and I think this book will help with my mental game. I always compare my self when playing with others wanting to chase perfection. my thoughts end up getting chaotic and I will think about bad shots, and when those bad shots heppen I will think about how I need this next shot to be great to then make up for the previous shot. If it again is another bad shot I feel behind and so negativity really kicks in. These thoughts are generated from wanting to be better than my apponents and feeling as if I have to prove to them on the golf course that I am indeed better. When I feel like I am not then it is catasprophic and I can't focus. If I feel like I am better then I play better. Howver, I play my best golf when I am by myself only playing with my own game focusing on ever situation at hand. If I could just let go of all of my self doubt that stems from my own ego of wanting to outcompete my component in combination of caring what others think of my own game, because of almost wanting to impress them I could be more present and able to focus, as well as have more fun. FYI when I play with others I shoot between 13-16 over par, and when I play by myself I shoot around 6-9 over par. I have only been playing golf for around a year and a half and I really want to change my mental game, and I need help doing that.
Almost finished with the book and I can definitely see how it will help, it’s certainly changed how I manage the round for club and target selection. Practice session today I worked on skill development, swing path & club face to hit functional fades & draws, high and low trajectory.
Great podcast, I just bought the book, looking forward to reading it and hopefully it help me get from a 12hc to single figures and enjoy golf a lot more. Keep up the great work Mark
Something that the Decade people don't ever talk about is that "speed control" is directly related to line control. If you push or pull putts you will have bad speed. They are one in the same.

I just watched a dptour tournament at the belfry and I realized Iam too hard on myself when it comes to putting.
Great interview, ordered the book. Most interesting re Mark Brodie’s conclusion about tee shots and getting good distance even in the rough.

I really like Jon and Adams podcast. Love their thoughts on external vs internal focus.
Great talk. Thanks. Ordered the book from Amazon.
