I didn't start writing with ease until grade 2, so I'll end up finishing the writing with ease program in 5th instead of 4th. I'm probably going to jump into this in 6th, but just move slower. Thanks so much for this video, it was very helpful
I bought this and the level 2 to decide between for my 8th grader next year. I feel like you really need to start with Level 1 to get the base understanding,l. I thunk he could handle Level 2, but I would need to go through and combine lessons somehow to have him go through learning the topoi and get a base understanding of them, but I'm not sure I want to do that. I love how the program is laid out and I think the step by step instruction will be great for my son who has ADHD-inattentive type. Either way, I'm excited to use this next year and I don't see a lot of people talking about it
I would just start him on level 1. This should help: support.welltrainedmind.com/hc/en-us/articles/360027244714-Which-level-of-Writing-With-Skill-is-right-for-my-student-
Great review! Thanks so much!
It looks really good. I agree that it is more suited to middle school and up. I wouldn't use it in 5th either.
Yeah, it’s intense for that young!

I find it a little advanced anyway, so that’s a good plan.

Click the link at the bottom of that page. It shows a progression of what to do if he does level 1 in 8th.
Thanks for going over the topics taught. This helped me. I'm gonna look into this for 7th grade.
You’re welcome!
Looks good-thanks for sharing!
I am very interested to see a review of this curriculum after you have used it. And especially how you think it compares to IEW.
Thank you!
Thank you for this video!
You are so welcome!
Can somebody help me is this considered reading a writing or is this considered literature?

Natasha, how does this stack up against Classical Academic Press' Writing and Rhetoric? What's similar/different? Looks like a fusion of IEW & W&R.
I’m sorry, I don’t really have any experience with Writing & Rhetoric. That description makes sense though. I bet it is similar to a fusion of both.
@@EducationalRoots are you familiar with Lost Tools of Writing? Would this be similar to Writing with Skill?
So you are not doing IEW?
I am :)
Is this to be done along with an English course?
You would need a separate grammar, reading, and spelling course.
If you are using this curriculum, How is it going so far?
I’m not. Sorry!
Why did you stop? What are you using now? Thanks
@@chrismiller9084 I didn’t stop. I just never started. I ended up starting a small school and we are using IEW.
