      Thank you and thanks for the invite again. I wanted to build that but needed the challenge/excuse. It's so cool to see everyone's expressions of the challenge, what an awesome thing to be a part of. We'll need to slab up some nice Montana and get a lamp going of that! Can't wait to see your Maker's project, cheers!

    oh the glow ! I think thats true art, the seam agates set into a fault or crevice in the wood, letting the stones edges of natural growth translate into the borders really kept its flow ! like the stones shaped the project, and for a thing of light made from stone and wood I think that was crucial, it kept it so delicate somehow and only highlighted the mineral forms instead of forcing them into a square reality. even the stand and decor to present it at the end was very full of flow, who wouldn't be refreshed and inspired by this in their home. very nice work !!

    • @OzoneFineArtVentures
      @OzoneFineArtVentures  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You totally articulated my vision, thank you so much! The agates back in the seam (played by the panel wood), the sedimentary layers of ground weave around the seam (played by the copper), a structure continually backlit with organic energy in situ. The table it was on in my stairwell was another project that asked to be made out of driftwood to hold agates, fossils, the day's ground scores, etc. Love that flow. I totally loved your project! That knife was incredible, your carving on the handle so beautiful. The color of the stone is lovely but extra special when backlit. Thanks for watching and thanks for sharing your project with us!

    Wow!!! Just wow!!! I'm more of a silver/ stainless steel tone person, but WOW!!! I absolutely LOVE your lamp and would love to have one!! Every part compliments the other and comes together as one magnificent piece!! I can imagine it sitting by a small yard waterfall fountain with an assortment of tropical type plants around it. 😃 Gorgeous!!!!

      @OzoneFineArtVentures  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you so much! I appreciate the positive feedback. It would look great in a garden, love your vision! Unfortunately, this one is for indoors considering the fixture used. It would be lovely to make more and to make them available, my tool situation would definitely need to come up to speed. The potential to make it with silver/stainless sounds wonderful, a whole different wood and stone palette could be used as well. Oh now you have me thinking! Thanks for the ideas and thanks for watching!

    Hi Karen, that lamp is quite cool, nicely done. We all have to work with what we have got and that some times means the work takes a lot more time than it would with a well equiped workshop. At first I thought you might be making a pendant shade for a ceiling light however the standing lamp is very neat twist. The light diffusing through the slabs is a great sight. Keep Safe & Keep Rockin

    • @OzoneFineArtVentures
      @OzoneFineArtVentures  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you so much. That's great that you'd guessed it was a light. It would be fun to make a pendant and a sconce style light as well. Lots of potential, anything to backlight those pretty agates! Thanks again for watching and cheers!

    There was no way I could have guessed what your plan was, until near the end. That alone deserves a vote from me if I were voting. Lol. I've only recently stumbled across Theo's own videos, then discovered the Makers Challenge. As a fairly recent creator myself, I've become more intrigued as I've watched videos while learning that there may be differences in that creativity, but there are similarities too.
    I've not seen all 14 entries yet but I'm gettin' there. It's absolutely astonishing what one can do with a rock.

    This was a great project, so beautiful and so cool! I really enjoyed watching this video. I suspected it was a lamp in the beginning with all the light bulbs when you finally said "Oh.." around the 1 min mark...however I doubted myself and it wasn't until around 8:47 when I would've started to bet money that it was a lamp. Even so, I couldn't have imagined how awesome it would turn out-great work! Thanks for sharing! ...Oh, and for music suggestions, I like Beastie Boys when I need energy, and meditation music when I need focus :)

'Sabotage' would have worked great as a theme song for this project. I can't concur with you more on the musical selection! Buuuuuuuut I’m at 10:36 and no, I don’t know what magical contraption you’re making (and I love the anticipation) but for music, okay, I hear you and I gotta say, one of my favourite for bringing out the creative flow is a band called Bon Iver. Like you have to! All their stuff! All the stuff from Justin Vernon is nuts good. Okay, muso excitement phase complete… on with the video! The copper makes the agate seam look like it goes all the way up! Yes! Just YES! that was awesome. It was cliffhangerish there for a bit and now I feel like I can chill and just enjoy the creation. So rad Karen! So rad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Heaps of exclamation points!) 🦄

      Oh my goodness, first of all, you're sooooo too kind. Second, the music you suggested is in my heart (for a while now), I love love love both. Not only the flow and mood, but if I could play any of my instruments half way decently, I'd want play like that, with that sentiment. I wonder if the next light would be different if I went with that musical flow while making...hmmmmm, going to need to find out😁 . It's great how you play by played your reaction, thank you for that, totally made me smile and laugh. I just got my first Graveyard Point piece yesterday in a swap with a guy in Idaho. He faced and flat lapped it to a great shine, it's top shelf on my current display. I think you know what music I mostly listen to when I'm working, but here's a lesser know one for you: th-cam.com/video/0GqC3vN8ndU/w-d-xo.html and here's one more th-cam.com/video/2RQOuZz_t2c/w-d-xo.html My 2 favorite lesser known bands. I had no idea what you were making until up to the end. When it was just the agate with the wire I thought maybe the world's prettiest yet most ineffectual suit of scale mail armor. That looks so pretty.

    • @OzoneFineArtVentures

      Wooohooo, you got some Graveyard! That's awesome, the stuff is so good. What color did you get? I loved both of the musical offerings (of course) but the Hazmat, whew, that's hot! If I had any musical talent, it would be a blast to play stuff like that (jump-blues-grass-old-timey-jangle-twang 😂). Plume Agate scale mail might be a thing, very fashionable among the nobles😁. Thanks for watching and sharing the music, cheers!

      @@OzoneFineArtVentures It's the grayish chalcedony with the white plumes and the back side is really nice bots. To further answer your question in the podcast last night, I've been giving away most of my stuff because A) I've been looking at most of it for over 25 years. B) Due to several injuries, I downsized living space and just don't have the room to put as many things anymore so there are pieces that have been boxed up for over 10 years. C) I want new stuff and am trying to create a "theme". I can't get out and hound anymore for the most part, so I "collect" by making swaps, and I'm trying to create a display where I can cite the finder and location. Sort of my personal rockhound museum. Along with that, I never was into any sort of worked stone, I kept everything as it came out of the ground (barring cleaning of course), now I'm more into polished and cut. I got my first ever rock tumbler last year and looked for a good tutorial to watch, found Michigan Rocks and quickly went down the rabbit hole. I'm subscribed to over 3 dozen of you guys now. That really opened my eyes to the joys of slabbing and polishing and lap work in general. If you remember, check out that video I mentioned last night, you'll see some of my nicer ones I sent out. And last of all (I am a garrulous typer if you can't tell by now) here's 1 more Hazmat (the last, I promise) th-cam.com/video/VqnPr470bhc/w-d-xo.html I first heard them on NPR and they were described as a high school marching band and a Russian folk band got all mixed up so Tom Waits came in to organize everybody. This one was the first song I heard, and they hooked me fast. OK, I'm done.
