Thank you for reacting! It’s interesting that you commented that the members seem more mature, and I think’s probably because their new album is themed around facing the realities of adulthood, so I suppose their aura had to match that. Also just generally, I think the members have grown and matured so much over the past year - I think they felt very restrained by the pandemic as they weren’t allowed to perform in front of a live audience since their rookie days, but over the past year and a half they’ve completed two tours and performed at festivals (including headlining Lollapalooza), so I think those experiences have really helped them mature and evolve in their craft. A lot of that new maturity comes through in their vocals for their new album (‘The Dream Chapter: Freefall’) - I am just absolutely obsessed with how they utilised their tones and techniques in this era! Also, you mentioned that you like Kai’s voice the most, then you’ll LOVE the album, because Kai’s vocals absolutely shine. Chasing That Feeling was my least favorite title track from TXT (on first listen) but the Freefall album was by far my favorite album on first listen. While CTF doesn’t feel like it pushes many boundaries, I think the album makes up for that as it explores so many different genres but somehow makes them feel like a cohesive unit. I would definitely love to hear your thoughts on the album if and when you can find the time.
Going into CTF, I had pretty high expectations because one of my favorite b-sides from TXT is ‘Thursday’s Child Has Far to Go’ which is also an 80s inspired synth-pop track, but when I heard CTF it didn’t really match up to that track, so I was a little disappointed. With that being said, the song has grown on me SO much and it’s now up there as one of my fav TXT title tracks. As a title track it is an interesting choice because it’s more on the lowkey side, however they had just released Back for More as a pre-release single a month before, so I didn’t personally feel like I needed another hard-hitting track directly after that. Unlike CTF, I loved Back for More on the first listen and still love it now, however I think I’ve probably listened to CTF more, simply because it’s very easy listening, so I suppose choosing that as the title was a smart move by the company.

i also prefer Back for More. the title track felt too underwhelming for me, even comparing with other bsides of the album
