Is there anywhere I can look up standard deviation for a stock. So far all I've found is "how to calculate" standard deviation, which seems to require a lot of data entry.
Yes - you can use a tool called portfolio visualizer to get the standard deviation of a stock. The reason you need a tool like this is because standard deviation needs to be calculated over a time period. The stocks standard deviation will change depending on the time period over which you test it.
@@ThePeakFP Thank you! It looked like it has an awfully steep learning curve, but I just started trying things semi-randomly and got the hang of the simplest aspects very quickly. (The secret of learning to use new software is to dive in and stat messing around. 🙂)
@@ThePeakFP 🌐I spoke too soon. I went back and I can't figure out how to save a portfolio. The "save portfolio" button takes me to a page for selecting a plan. (Yes, I'm logged in.) Does this mean you can't save portfolio in the free version (anymore)? Thank you for any information you can give me.
