Jonathan and Edlyn were inspired by modern New York-style loft apartments and wanted to bring minimalist elements like warm wood finishes and large glass windows into their 1,163-square-foot duplex near Pasir Ris Beach, where they enjoy walks with their dog, George. Jonathan, a long-time resident of Singapore's east, and Edlyn, originally from the west, decided to embrace the area's coastal charm.

Some people who have had the luxury of living en-suite master bedroom since young will get used to it.
En-suite master bedroom in SG is typically following this kind of style. Since they mentioned they get used with living house having stairways since childhood meaning they were born w good financial fam at least who can afford this kind of house.

Have you checked flow air,for cyclonic wind protection.
House is very fragile for cyclone.
Put the ribbon and check flow of wind. Cyclone wind is very strong it comes from east goes from west.
While going cyclonic wind are not so strong.
Make extra wood door for protection of glass or use glass bricks.
Use marine plywood ,it's painted on both the sides.
Make folding doors using coupling for very fragile glass walls.
You can use during high sunlight.
Watch the vedio of recent cyclone in viytanam and china.
    Home is very fragile.
You could have use mirror instead of glass bricks.
Remove glass bricks and put near your working place to strengthen outer structure during cyclone.
Please don't misunderstand me for writing negative.
Precautions is better then cure. People home suffer distrabance during cyclone .

I want you to study older shop window 🪟 fixing technique.
In village of china and India some 5o years back shop was displaying article on window glass coubord but they were covering it with wood panel fixing one by one inside frame. It was time taking job,but we can remove and keep separately and use when ever needed.
After this process , they were putting middle wood to put locking system. Ask elderly village shop owners. This technology is very good to protect glass from cyclonic wind. We can cover when ever needed.
During day hours we see only frame.
If you want to use glass for making home, give gallery all around home or use only towards windy sides .
If you are using marine bord,
Put some wax or sealer to close open sides of marine bord to protect wood from water.
    We must know all technique.

Perhaps it would be more productive to think about how we should redesign hdb to be made for bigger families instead of feeling miffed over the choice of design of a private real estates that only house 20% of the population in Singapore.
tbh if you encourage young couples who want to have children to have 4 or more children, you will probably make up for the portion of the population that does not want to have children. But current social engineering practices (i.e. hdb) is designed typically for a family of 4, not 6 or more. As someone who does not want to have kids, I'd rather pay more taxes to fund those big families than to have children I cannot take care of.

@@csy897 a 4rm flat is well sized for a family of 2 parents and 1 child. a 5rm flat probably with 2 kids. Nobody is asking parents to produce more than 2 at this stage. Couples like these in the video clearly do not want children not because of space constraint - they can afford even a jumbo flat less than the price of that condo - they do not want kids because of their lifestyle and preference not to have kids. Simple as that no need to think so much and just rely on what you see.

The window is really nice, i also like the design of the study room. But i think some of the layout and ideas are quite wild. The wildest is the wall-less toilet. I think the moisture from the bathroom will be insane after living in there for a period. Humidity will affect the furnishing of the bedroom after a while. Also the smell from the big businesses 😮. It will also cost the next owner to build a wall for the toilet. Also other layout like having 2 pantries, 1 is just directly beside the main door. TV is infront of the dinning table, then wont be able to enjoy the TV on the sofa. I guess probably the couple seldom watch TV, and rhe sofa is just for chillax. I would imagine that it will cost the next owner quite a bit to adjust the layout again.
