We know Stink bugs as Shield Bugs in the UK, but we don't see them in large quantities, just a random few. Their crop of choice with me has always been raspberries, they jump on my top and hitch a ride around the garden. I am lucky not to have them in any numbers that do visible damage to the plants. You did well to remove them so efficiently, I have never seen such clusters of them around stems etc. I use Neem oil as a preventative for bugs, but on a garden the size of yours my little spray bottle would be futile. It will be interesting to see if they focus on a limited number of plants. Good luck!

We have the Kudz stink bugs all over the sunny backside of our house. This is the 1st year to ever see them. They love to cling to the yellow siding and white handrails on our back porch which gets the hot afternoon sun and heat. for some reason. I have found the best thing that kills them instantly is a mix some Dawn dish detergent and water in a 2 gallon pump sprayer. They drop instantly and it seems like I'm getting a handle on them, They come out in the heat of the day after 2PM here in Greer SC then by 6PM they are gone, Thanks for the heads up that they are probably on a plant or in the ground, will have to look for them during the early morning. They do stink even when they are dying from the soap solution. If you use a vacuum of any kind it will ruin it as the smell will not wash out. Smells like some very bad vegetation.

Even spices...hot pepper, cloves. Just a thought.

I was born here in N GA, but raised in N Alabama, and we never had them that bad that I can ever remember. My daddy would have had a fit if he came out and found those on his figs like that, too.
I don't even know the best way to get rid of them, because I've never seen them like that.

I haven't seen a stink bug in about 5 years. Watched your video, walked outside to pick okra and there was one! He has met his maker 😆

Danny, Wanda, do you have any small paint brushes at the farm...like artists use, or ladies use for make-up. It would keep you from having to reach in and touch them, and maybe they'd fly off before you could knock 'em into the sudsy liquid in the cup. May God protect your produce and plantings. : /

Have you thought of trying a mini cordless vacuum cleaner? I’ve never tried that, but I’m wondering if that might work.

I found a lot of them on my wisteria tree. Bugs cover all flowers...Love the tree but i have to take it down. i scare of kudzu bugs will enter the house. I live in south California. I guess this bugs everywhere now. Haven't seen them last year.

You may know the kudzu bugs were first recorded in the USA in 2009 in GA. They were recorded in MS in 2012 but not in all counties. Infact some counties still haven't reported them. The county extensions ask people to watch and report of they are in a county that they haven't been recorded yet, I don't know your county but if you are one that didn't previous have the kudzu bug then it would be nice if you would call your county extension to tell them so that they can document it. This website has kudzu data that they are tracking at www.kudzubug.org/distribution-map/ Their data is behind because this year in April another agency reported the kudzu bug in Texas for the first time. The kudzu bug website also has a good identification page that shows all stages of development from egg to adult. They go through 5 instar before reaching adult and they have pictures of what they look like at those instar stages. www.kudzubug.org/identification/ It shows difference in female and male too.

Another gift from China, stink bugs. Man, our stink bugs up here are twice the size. I found one in my smoker yesterday. Those must be just hatched. I get them all over my pumpkins, covering them.

We dont call those "stink bugs", those are Japanese beetles. My dad has them covering his raspberry plants, but they arent eating the berries or harming the plants. Stink bugs are flat and smell horrible if you dont smash them before they spray you, or sometimes they will spray while you smash them. Nasty either way! Glad to see how you take care of them, because those things fly and hit you in the face! Lol

Use Diatemaceous Earth, Food Grade. I sprinkle it on my plants. I, also, use it on my dog. You can mix it with distilled water in a spray bottle also. It works for me.
