I liked Matt striker on commentary, he was the opposite of the Heel Michael Cole from 2010-2011
Yeah I remember in early 2011s where cole was favoring only the heel and lawler was favoring the face . Striker rather focused on great strategies and abilities of a prowrestler whether they were heel or face ..
I met Matt Striker at a House Of Glory Wrestling show, he’s very nice. He was the first wrestler/commentator I ever met and till this day the only one.

@Ba a0 just saw the aj interview with shida and that was 4 months ago. The utah promo with aew and shida pre show interview was yesterday and her english improved way more in those 4 months.

This is one of the most humble interviews I have ever heard.
Someone giving credit to production teams, thank you! Lighting, editing, set design, sound, camera crew, and everything else that makes these shows what they are really don't get acknowledged as much because they typically are so seamless and integrated into the show that we don't notice what they do. But it's a lot of work that goes into creating the show and I feel people don't give them enough attention or appreciation.

Striker is untouchable on commentary. He did for Luncha and Impact what Jim Ross did for WWE Attitude era
I saw Matt commentate back in 2010 and he took the time to shake every fans hand at ringside and was the only one on the commentary team during that time that did so.

CVV + Matt MF Striker, one of the voices of Lucha Underground and true student of wrestling = goodbye whatever I was doing for the next 51 minutes. LU would not have been what it was without Vampiro and his brother brother brother, the living encyclopedia Matt Striker.
Matt Striker was a fun heel character back in the WWE's ECW and he was such a solid addition to the show's commentary team. I remember watching the episode where he made his commentary debut and was quite impressed. And he came back again the following week and he knocked it out of the park each week. Great interview, Chris!!! You are the best man!!!

matt is the voice of an era, while many grew up with fond memories of JR, Vince, Schiavone, a lot of kids had their nights soundtracked by matt,and he's defiantly one of the most iconic voices of wrestling

one of my favorite commentators of all time. his work in lucha underground is tremendously genuine. Funny when his commentator voice breaks out slightly amid this interview
Lucha Underground was something special back when few of us looked for an alternative
Its the closest we got from having a competitor to wwe before aew was even thought of
From the first moment Matt began commentating I was immediately impressed.... And he immediately became one of my favourite commentators "of all time"
Matt is incredibly underrated as a commentator and should be praised for his work... WWE didn't know what they had.
Joey styles , Cory graves and Matt are the greatest of all time in my opinion.

Striker is nearly 46 years old. I thought he was in his 30s
I always figured he was in his early to mid 30’s in his WWE run, but I was off a bit.
Fan of both of you. I remember seeing Matt first on an indy fed with youtube vids that brought up his “he’s the teacher that got fired” angle. Up to WCWC in Oregon/Washington area, always liked his wrestling. Now talking he reminds me of Joe Rogan, or comedian Paul Gabrus (from Comedy Bang Bang podcasts). Love him even more now. As always great interview CVV. Maybe you need to have each wrestler chop you after each interview!

I don't know what it is but when Matt Striker first started commentating at WWE everyone loved him because he was so much more human and normal than the rest of the robotic style announcers probably because he hadn't been trained to be that way yet but then at some point that all changed and it became a groan inducing thing when you heard him.
The thing is he's not alone as there is so many people who started out on commentary in WWE that at the start everyone loved from people like Tazz to JBL to the modern day of Corey Graves and now they're all pretty much looked down upon although not always for their commentary but various social media crap they get up to.
But basically I don't know if it's a WWE thing that makes these people unlikeable over time or not or it's some other reason but regardless good interview

Been watching some old stuff on the WWE Network and I forgot how good Striker was on commentary.
Was always my fav dude to listen to next to JR, WWE fucked up big by letting him go, so intelligent & funny, you should interview Josh Matthews, havent heard shit from him since leaving WWE except that hes with Impact now

; we were lucky enough to have Matt on a 3 day loop once and what I learned from him in the ring pales in comparison to what I learned from him about being a man. I've had the pleasure of meeting Matt for a few minutes to do a quick interview. Super nice guy. He's had such an interesting path in the wrestling world.
Matt is the dude! Knows the Japanese scene really well! I watched some Japanese mma a couple weeks back and he was doing commentary the first half of the show, it sounded like he was in an aeroplane and kept cutting out but he got it fixed eventually it was pretty hilarious. but the guy works his ass off an I got nout but respect for him.
