Kings Island is my home park and I can tell you, Vortex can either be awesome or terrible depending on where you sit. The closer to the front you are, the better.
I do agree, but it also seems to be kinda random. I've had rides in the front seat that was amazingly smooth and I walked away feeling great. Another day, same seat, similar time of day, temperature, etc., and I'll get off feeling horrible. So who knows.
I really love the Vortex, but I am very short and where the shoulder restraints sit on me makes this ride so rough. If it weren't for that it would probably be one of my favorites at the park.
exactly! my friend and I over the summer rode in the back for a kart, and he hated it. but when we got in the front (there was like no one in line) it was awesome!! I also swallowed a bug which was fun😂😂

i rode this weekend at night in the front row, and it was incredible. i didn’t get to take a ride on beast, because the line would take ages. but next summer, or haunt fest, i would love to see what’s the big obsession with this ride. but my favorite ride at the moment is DIAMONDBACK ❤️❤️💛💛🐍
A night ride on Banshee is a crazy good experience, i rode it right at the end of sunset and it was beautiful if you time it right, i can't wait to ride it in the dark again
Yeah we got on it right before close this summer and there was zero line. We asked for a 2nd ride without getting off but they wouldn't allow it, so we ran back into the entrance and were able to step right back on it for two back-to-back dark rides right before the fireworks started. It was glorious!

I just went and rode it two days ago. Had to get a map cuz I had no idea where it was. I found it but it was very concealed behind drop tower and the woods. Great ride.
I think the best coaster in the park is "The Beast". Going around the corner where you feel like you're gonna hit the wall entering the tunnel is like nothing I can describe. Absolutely, positively the best ride I have ever been on of all the parks I have been at and there has been alot of them. Positively the best!

I went to kings island yesterday with my boyfriend and Bestie and had a blast. I rode the beast for the first time and fell in love with it. I rode mystic timbers for the second time. The beast and mystic timbers are my favs for kings island. Mystic timbers jerks alot for my liking but is a very enjoyable ride. The beast sure lives up to its name. Its a great view of the woods and I love the effect that the sheds surrounding the tracks add to the lighting of the forest. I would highly recommend both of these coasters to anyone who is going to kings island for the first time and would love to ride hem without stopping.
Kings Island is my home park. I'm glad you enjoyed it! As for The Beast and Racer, the bumpiness depends on what day you ride it, one time I rode The Beast and it was really smooth, then another time I rode it and it was really rough.

I got stuck for about 30 minutes on backlot stunt coaster, if I remember correctly a deer had wondered onto the location so they shut the ride down while they shooed it away. The fire special effect made it extra hot

When I saw you post this initally, I was surprised to see Mystic Timbers on top, but having just visited for the first time, I can fully understand why. I got a front row ride and had a fist worth of space between me and the lap bar and so much great ejector airtime throughout. And the smoothness is great.
Kings Island is pretty kick butt! Such a well rounded coaster lineup. This park has such an overlooked collection. Deciding an order for this list takes a lot of thought that isn't really required for any other park, cuz all the coasters are so close

I have been going to Kings Island all my life and I was shocked you put Mystic Timbers over The Beast. I really thought after you said you did a night ride with the Beast that it wouldn't have made your top 2. Overall you have done a great job with the two Kings Island videos. Keep up the good work.
The Beast was awesome..rode it in 2003....the hill going up before you made you drop into the underground tunnel...it was a two minute long haul to me lol but it made it suspenseful. A lso, the way the coaster was built into the terrain...it was amazing! I would go back and ride it again!
If you got to ride firehawk you are lucky because at the end of 2018 season it closed down because it traveled from a different park and it kept breaking down 1 diomendback 2 mystic timbers 3 stunt coster 4 racers 5 beast
Personally, I prefer a bumpy roller coaster over a smooth one. I understand that it can be uncomfortable and I see why people may not like it. But I think the bumpiness adds to the intensity of the coaster and I like that, which is why vortex is my favorite.
now would be a great time to go to kings island because they remodled the racers tracks and now have a giga coaster like millenium force called orion but R.I.P Firehawk and vortex

I did bring the park up a few times, but I love Carowinds. I just brought it up because they also have a Flying Ace Aerial Chase, a Woodstock Express and a coaster named Vortex that I've ridden.
I grew up in that area & have been to Kings Island many times. The Beast is not only the #1 roller coaster at Kings Island, it's the #1 roller coaster on planet earth. I first rode it in its second year, 1980. Build whatever you want, The Beast will never, ever, EVER be topped. #1 for all time!
I used to (and still do) go here all the time. Growing up we used to always joke about how the bestie was the scariest ride only because it always had new sections of tracks and looked bandied together. Took my son on it and since they updated it, it looks better.
I agree that mystic timbers should be at number 1. For people who are usually afraid of heights and coasters in general like myself, the height is not TOO high and it gives a really good experience. The bat was one i also really enjoyed. Diamondback was enjoyable overall once i got past the first hill. The 230 ft gave me a panic attack and i almost passed out ( not kidding ). So would i ride diamondback again? Most likely no because the first hill will always spook me. But i would ride a lot of the other ones you mentioned the more i conquer my fear.
I thought Mystic Timbers was overrated when I first rode it. But the more wooden coasters I ride, the more I realize Mystic Timbers is a work of art and I was totally wrong about it. I agree it's the best coaster in the park.
This is by far my most favorite park and I love it so much! It makes me want to be a roller coaster enthusiast, it's my most favorite place in the world! The way that you assessed and placed the coasters is perfect, and when you mentioned that The Bat was an Unexpected Gem at the beginning of the video, I knew that this was going to be good. I went there 2 weeks ago and i only got to ride 7 rides (4 of them broke down while we were in line and one never opened back up for the rest of the day)

Originally the Adventure Express when it was first built was themed like the movie Indiana Jones and the temple of Doom. The first tunnel had arrows coming out at you and fog and different lighting. It's hard to hear now but the statue at the end would say "you will perish" and the lava would glow redish orange. Many of these effects are no longer associated with the ride anymore.

The first time I went to Kings Island I was too short to ride anything (even kiddie coasters) without a parent. Even the freaking carousel. I lost my hat on Great Pumpkin (formerly Little Bill’s Giggle Coaster) and cried like a little baby because I _was_ one but it still haunts me to this day. I hate Vortex with all my heart and it deserves to die. Rip to Firehawk though :( I only got to ride it twice. Shoutout to the little boy who stuck his arm over my face the first time hope he’s doing well.
Agreed with lots you said, unfortunate you did not get to feel the EXTREME airtime hills on the great pumpkin coaster.

I wouldn't put mystic timbers above banshee or beast. I'd say like after flight of fear.
I rode on Mystic Timber today and was blown away at how good of a ride it really is.
I love roller coasters, but I dont really like the feeling I get on big drops. And when I saw beast, my stomach was like *oh hell naaa*

There was a turn that caught me off guard on Adventure express. It actually made my legs tingle!
Personally, I prefer a bumpy roller coaster over a smooth one. I understand that it can be uncomfortable and I see why people may not like it. But I think the bumpiness adds to the intensity of the coaster and I like that, which is why vortex is my favorite.

I just realized that Kings island has three inverts.
So-Cal Theme Park Fan 5 technically,
It has Firehawk, Banshee, Flight of Fear, Invertigo, and Vortex. All of these rides feature at least 1 inversion.

The vortex gives you so much whiplash it’s crazy I agree with you on almost everything u said about it and most of the other coasters also backlot stunt coaster is one of my all time favorite ride can’t leave the park without riding it its so much fun it’s crazy

I did bring the park up a few times, but I love Carowinds. I just brought it up because they also have a Flying Ace Aerial Chase, a Woodstock Express and a coaster named Vortex that I've ridden.
I grew up in that area & have been to Kings Island many times. The Beast is not only the #1 roller coaster at Kings Island, it's the #1 roller coaster on planet earth. I first rode it in its second year, 1980. Build whatever you want, The Beast will never, ever, EVER be topped. #1 for all time!
it's my favorite. I love rideing it near the back of the car, and the rides after it rains are the best.

I used to (and still do) go here all the time. Growing up we used to always joke about how the bestie was the scariest ride only because it always had new sections of tracks and looked bandied together. Took my son on it and since they updated it, it looks better.

I agree that mystic timbers should be at number 1. For people who are usually afraid of heights and coasters in general like myself, the height is not TOO high and it gives a really good experience. The bat was one i also really enjoyed. Diamondback was enjoyable overall once i got past the first hill. The 230 ft gave me a panic attack and i almost passed out ( not kidding ). So would i ride diamondback again? Most likely no because the first hill will always spook me. But i would ride a lot of the other ones you mentioned the more i conquer my fear.
I thought Mystic Timbers was overrated when I first rode it. But the more wooden coasters I ride, the more I realize Mystic Timbers is a work of art and I was totally wrong about it. I agree it's the best coaster in the park.

This is by far my most favorite park and I love it so much! It makes me want to be a roller coaster enthusiast, it's my most favorite place in the world! The way that you assessed and placed the coasters is perfect, and when you mentioned that The Bat was an Unexpected Gem at the beginning of the video, I knew that this was going to be good. Big Trev WHAT!! I think it is amazing by all the props and sound effects, and the shed is AMAZING! The ride gets you into the theme of being at a haunted woods

I went there 2 weeks ago and i only got to ride 7 rides (4 of them broke down while we were in line and one never opened back up for the rest of the day)

Chrissa Mccoy it’s a little boring compared to something like the beast, but it’s certainly better than the Woodstock express.
Originally the Adventure Express when it was first built was themed like the movie Indiana Jones and the temple of Doom. The first tunnel had arrows coming out at you and fog and different lighting. It's hard to hear now but the statue at the end would say "you will perish" and the lava would glow redish orange. Many of these effects are no longer associated with the ride anymore.
I went to Woodstock Express and Adventure Express and those rides were really fast but it was really fun for the most part.

I have ridden Iron Dragon at Cedar Point but going to ride Vortex at Canada's Wonderland when I go in 6 days with my dad and my cousin. So excited!
The first time I went to Kings Island I was too short to ride anything (even kiddie coasters) without a parent. Even the freaking carousel. I lost my hat on Great Pumpkin (formerly Little Bill’s Giggle Coaster) and cried like a little baby because I _was_ one but it still haunts me to this day. I hate Vortex with all my heart and it deserves to die.
Rip to Firehawk though :( I only got to ride it twice. Shoutout to the little boy who stuck his arm over my face the first time hope he’s doing well.
This is my favorite amusement park....and thankfully I get to go every summer due to my dad living there. I can agree with your list.
