I always shop my kitchen first to come up with ideas for what I can make with what I already have, and limit my grocery shopping to just the specific things I might need to complete those meals (specific sauce, specific type of bread, cheese, whatever) and it always saves me a ton of money and prevents food waste!
Yes always check your fridge and pantry before you shop consolidated my credit cards dollar tree for dishwasher pods 😮pay my 5 dollar bills I had saved to pay my copay call my Fidelity to remove money to hit the credit card bills again
@Danisdevinedelight, the same for me, as well.....shop my pantry and fridge first, to see what ideas I can up with, and I always look on tiktok for receipe ideas videos, and than shop my pantry and fridge...
Something that was super helpful for me was going back through my bank statements from 3 months and adding up the total of what I spent on food and gas per pay period. I then averaged it and used that amount for my groceries budget amount. That was step 1! Then step 2 is seeing if and how can I cut it back while working on my debt snowball. Total game changer! I always over spent on food (and my morning coffee 😂) Thanks bestie! You're doing great!
@@BK-tp6jfthanks! I got it from another budgeter on here I can't remember who though so I can't take credit haha but it was SO HELPFUL because I didn't even know where to start with my budget it made a world of difference for me 😊❤
For car insurance you can raise your deductible BUT the $$ you save with a lower premium should go into a deductible fund. Always be sure you have home and car insurance deductible saved.
I was taught to spend no more than 15% of net income on Food. In home and eating out combined. Toiletries and personal care combined are up to 5%. Also, have a sinking fund for save for spa day and hair salon.
While watching this video, I deposited my paycheck and put every dollar to work! I'm so excited to transfer funds to savings and to pay off debt and building up my sinking funds each time I get paid. Thank you so much for the motivation. 💖
Planet fitness is the best gym. Period. Because the ppl who go there are mainly regular ppl trying ti get a workout on. Ppl respect the cleanliness and the staff cleans. Not a cleaning crew. They’re always cleaning and customers must clean the machine after use. Hopefully you have one in your area.
Great job in paying the credit cards! I was also suspended on one of my cards and I got out of card suspension in September. It felt like a 2000 lbs were taking off my shoulders.
Q&A Question: How do you remind yourself of your "why" that keeps you going on your debt free journey? I have my reasons & repeat then to myself regularly, but there are times where I get frustrated with myself for not being where i believe I should be. 🥺
To be honest, I completed my workbook with my WHY...I look at it everyday and I think about my journey multiple times a day because I am that serious....If I have to, I will add my why to my phone wallpaper. I also consume a lot of TH-cam videos which keeps me motivated...
😊😊 An old doctor bill I had on my credit report. Just fell off. It was too old to be still on my account. And it made my credit go up. So thank you very much for doing what you're doing. Because you're out here helping others. Best keep it up, you're doing great.
Where do you put your personal spending? Variable or sinking fund? Like if you wanted a new cover for your planner where would the funds for that come from?
Good morning bestie, you are doing great. Congrats on getting out of credit card jail🎉. Love your explanations. I learn something in every video. Groceries are so expensive. I also shop my kitchen to see what I need to complete meals with items I already have. I’m trying to adjust my food allowance so it’s comfortable for me. Leftover gang here as well 😊 Great video bestie❤
My husband and I strategically meal plan and grocery shop each and every Sunday. We try and use what we have first and make meals around that. I color code the grocery list each week, which has helped not to double buy products. Sadly after all of that we still end up spending around $150 week for two people each week 😩. Lord help!
I am new to budgeting by paycheck. Can you please explain the sinking funds column. Are those amount that you put into the budget envelope? How did you come up with the amounts?
Please, please do a booklet like you did on no spend. This booklet should be on How to pay on pass due bill, the phone calls, face the bill collector by taking the call, don't focus on debt and past due bill at the same time. Do past due bill first then debt.. People need to know how they can do what you did...
Great video. Thank you for breaking down the differences between household and toiletries. I always wondered about that. Looks like I will need to get a new envelope made.
Don’t be nervous! We got you!! A question I have is about your multiple accounts. Is your bill account a physical bank that you have access to or an online bank?
My husband and I have a bills account with Wells Fargo that we’ve had since 2016. We lived in LA and moved to Iowa we are happy we didn’t have to close it because we have branches here. I have another account for me also with them and I’m thinking about opening another one to use as a sinking funds that we don’t use cash for. Like we moved 2 years we still have our car insurance and tags with my mom’s address in California. I would use that account to save for the insurance and tags when they are due.
Thank you so much...I want to encourage you to see if you lower annnnny cost...I am sure that you probably have...You may also be able to make more money somehow (perhaps online) so that you can save.
I actually did not but I will start doing so after the majority of this debt is paid...I will give myself an allowance after I have budgeted for bills, expenses, sinking funds, and savings
For us, we basically have the same foods like weekly or a variation of the same foods weekly - every week throughout the week i go thru and keep a list on the fridge of what we've ran out of or i see something i wanna try to make and get the ingredients i dont have on the list and Sundays when we do our weekly grocery shopping ...we just bought a deep freezer so now we can go bulk shopping and hopefully lower our bill even more since well have the meats at the house and just restock fresh fruits and veggies and like dairy .... Also i didnt know there was a credit card jail lol .. im loving your videos 😁 watching how others budget is so fascinating...
Thank you soooo much! You system is definitely robust and I love that you have it going and running! As long as we have meats it makes it very easier and cheaper. Please let me know if you investing in the deep freezer causes your grocery bill to decrease...
