- On the wings of a burgeoning aviation culture of hinterland stick jockeys, airmail pilots and high-flying adventurers, the Royal Canadian Air Force emerges from 100 years of war and peace as a respected, if not feared, hunter, protector and humanitarian presence in troubled skies the world over. The fascinating story of the RCAF is one of passion, perseverance and promise.

It makes me proud to have worn the airforce blue uniform and been a small part of such a great service to our country. The youth we trained have gone on to fulfill their aspirations and our hope for their futures. Good work all.
When I was a kid..half my kindergarten chipunks were RAF fighter pilot kid ratz....WE LOVED THEM ALL!
RIP lawres Guptill, CF-100. A great man.
Excellent Video!
Coincidence, tonight i was out to supper with my sister, my son and his girlfriend. The latter was having a tough time with the last sips of her beer. So i belted out a favourite 401 drinking song. "Here's to Sharina she's true blue, tried to get to heaven but, went the other way, so drink chug-a-lug, drink!"...
My dad was RCAF is WW2...spent the war on RCAF crash boats out of Jericho patrolling from Vancouver to Nome Alaska....
This was great & interesting video, thanks
The North West passage is Canadian.
Why spend so much time on the false starts, instead of focusing on the accomplishments?
Here's 13 minutes of my life I'll never get back. In my opinion, apart from laying blame to the politicians and high brass this is pure junk . I expected a lot more history.
*GREAT !!!!*
After the Battle of Britain in 1940 ..... a numerous Polish very experienced fighter pilots were sent from UK to Canada, to train young Canadian Fly Boys to fly and combat in the air. Some of those Poles worked hard in the Oshawa Municipal Airport as instructors. Today @ the Oshawa, Ontario, small City Airport.... there is NO even a small memory or the recognition at all for their involvement in training Canadian aviators during the World War II ...
That's too bad !!!!
