I worked for the Missouri Department of Transportation when I was in engineering school and was assigned to cleaning rest areas along I-70 (a delightful use of my engineering skills) and I was absolutely astounded at some of the traveling public and their total disregard for public facilities and property. This was in the late 1960's and the interstate I was working was less than 2 years old. People cleaned out their stock trailers, vans, or cars and just left the trash laying in the parking lots. And this was in the 60's!! I see not much has changed. The rest rooms and picnic areas that were built as part of the highway construction were first class. The only bright side was that if I caught someone in the act of doing bad things, all I had to do was write up an incident report with a description of the vehicle, license plate, VIN number, and a narrative of what was done. Had to be careful since some of the motoring public were psycho even back then. Their reward was that the highway patrol would either pull them over further down the road and write them up or they would receive a summons in the mail or in person at their current location. Did not get them all but got a lot. I still had to pick up and remove a whole lot of bad things.

@Casey LaDelle I've done the "carve a wooden plug and hammer it in" routine. It's all a matter of how desperate you are. You weren't so much as proper help was on the way!

An allen wrench makes a great substitute for an easy out when you are in a bind. Pound the short side of the allen wrench in and then you have a the long side to use a handle for leverage. That trick was taught to me by an old farmer.

Hey I’m glad you’re getting a power washer!
I love love love mine! Except for I practically rebuilt it last fall and because it turned cold so suddenly I couldn’t even get to all the jobs I had planned for it! Then yesterday I got it out and filled it up with gas and pulled it a few times and Pop the cord blew apart. Fortunately 2 strands were still holding on for dear life. So I pulled it apart and before I cut the strands I used a zip tie to go through the holes. Start on the outside, go in through the inside of your cord wheel over at least two of the ribs and back through your covers metal louvers line up the knot on the inside to the hole and secure it from the outside by tightening up the zip tie .
I got really lucky when mine came apart! I didn’t keep yanking the rope to get it to go back in!
If you have ever done this yank it all the way out, and it snaps, you are probably familiar with the sound of the coiled metal spring blowing up inside your small gas engines air cooling housing!
That’s another story entirely and you have a worse mess.
So once I threaded the new pull rope through the handle with a stop knot, I took the handle put it back together and then pushed the end of the rope right into the hole again tied it into a knot in the hole, put it all back together and Voila pulled it a couple of times and it started !!!
Bought it from a pawn shop, back in 2008 or so and it’s on its second pump now, and still working!!! With that rotary motion novel it takes rust and paint off, but it’s an old amazing Craftsman!
It has paid for itself multiple times over the years!!! Recycle Re-use Re-pourpose!!!😊

Hey Casey, another great treat. As an older (more mature) and lazy guy, I invested in the chain binders with the fittings that would let me tighten or loosen them with my Makita impact. A bit more expensive, but so much faster and easier.. Just an idea because I know you like to be efficient. Kepp up the good work.

I was going to comment on how I’d fix that drain but then you did exactly what I would, only thing I could add. I us a propane soldering torch (always have one handy know, saved me more times than I can count) to melt whatever sealant is on the threads then the broken fitting usually comes out easy with a flathead screwdriver

You can temporarily stop the bipping for low air pressure by holding at the same time panel light switch down and the little trip stick in the cluster for about 5-10seconds.
As long as the key is on you'll don't have to deal with the alarm.

won't allways work but a wood plug made from a tree branch and driven into the broken fitting will hold a lot more pressure than one would think, just don't waste time trying it on a hydrylic fitting.

This homeless situation sickens me. I witnessed a situation in Branson Mo last year, inside of the city limits, that wasn’t on this magnitude but really made me mad. This was on private land that belongs to an organization named Elevate whose primary mission was to rehab homeless people. They lived on this property and after the organization moved them on they left plies of trash right out on the city street and strewn throughout the property. Sickening!

Casey, when I drove truck I always carried copper tubing ( less than a foot ), rubber hose, hose clamps, and pipe fittings that all would fit any part of the air system. They don't take up much room but can save your a** when broke down even if an illegal repair just to get you rolling again so you can make a proper repair later. Keep'em rolling... you 're doing great!

You can always whittle a stick and plug the hole with until you get to where you could repair it. Had to do that to air up a tractor trailer to tow it.when the drive shaft came out and knocked a fitting off the air tank.
