Try Ctrl+D. but if you want to copy in same place. Select object press Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V. copy and paste

select PEN TOOL . 1st Click--------->2nd Click and Drag------------->3rd again click.
Use SHAPE TOOL to edit the path but of course you need some time and practice to get good control on vector illustration

Don't hold the first click when creating the line. However hold the click once the second point is created and then drag it
