    I tried it, yay! I love your ideas, Thanks so much. Only difference is when I rapped the around the ponytail it was girlish his hair is too long and thick. So, I pulled them through the ponytails on the sides.

      YAY! Ohhhh smart idea! That's a great alternative, hopefully if anyone has the same issue as you they'll see this comment and use this as an alternative method too! Keep up the good work! 💙

    Maybe try young kings? It’s a new line now available at target.. but I myself am looking for something for my son. His hair is more of a texture type hes 3a/3b hair type and for now I’ve been using Shea moisturizer for kids and I’m not the greatest fan. So I’ve ordered crazy kids to try but then I seen that you didn’t care for the formula so I’m convinced I’m not gonna bother to try it 😂

    • @keepingupwithkham
      @keepingupwithkham  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank youuu! I’m definitely gonna look for this line. Unfortunately we don’t have Target in Canada anymore but maybe I’ll find it on Amazon 🤞🏽I used to loveeeee the Curly kids and maybe the formula didn’t change for all their products? So you may be in luck! I’m more or less still a fan of Shea Moisture but def not a fan of their prices 😂 I’ve got a couple new products that I’ll be trying in upcoming videos so hopefully we’ve found what we’ve been looking for 💙

    What would you suggest I do to the front if I can’t cornrow?

    • @keepingupwithkham
      @keepingupwithkham  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The section that the braided one goes into, you can just add the braid portion into that section and spilt it into two, and just twist both and even connect that front twist to the back one just to keep hair outta their face. (Hope that explanation made sense 😩😂) 🤞🏽💙

    My son's hair is sooo thick I cant even finger detangle. NO JOKE... Any suggestions on products I can try that will soften his hair so I can really detangle and comb his hair? 😊

    • @keepingupwithkham
      @keepingupwithkham  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Water!!! lol sounds so simply but definitely water and the right type of brush. Any type of open brush with separate rows of bristles (like the Evolve Detangler Flow-Thru brush linked in our latest videos) and use that with some type of moisturizing butter or cream (we prefer the Hawaiian Ginger Hair Butter from Mielle but use something that's not too thick so the hair isn't weighed down) Take his hair into smaller sections since it's thick, and work your way from the ends to the root.

    I’m trying to experiment and find different parts other then down the center. I don’t like the way it kind of permanently stays in my sons hair even when his hair is out. I’m always worried it will start to thin his hair..? Could you show some different parting looks that suit a boy please. He’s only 2.5 years old so it’s still thin around his hairline

    • @keepingupwithkham
      @keepingupwithkham  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes of course, I feel the same way as well! I’ll be sure to switch it up a little. But also, even if you’re doing a centre part you can alternate between zig zag parting, curved parting, and straight parting that way the hair isn’t always the same part in that area.

    • @AC-by4nf

      @@keepingupwithkham thank you! I will do zig zag parts most of the time, the other day I did his hair and his dad called him DaBrat 😆 🤦🏻‍♀️

    Hi, new to your channel... My sons hair is super curly so ive juss left it until now an its becoming untamed, dry and extremely tangled.... How often do you wash your sons hair? Also do you refresh daily using styles or do you prefer wash n go??

    • @keepingupwithkham
      @keepingupwithkham  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi! Welcome 🤗 I try and wash his hair as far in between as I can but like you said their hair becomes dry and tangled (even if it’s in two braids) so usually once a week, maybe once every two weeks depending on what style his hair is in. The thing is the type of texture our kids have it requires a frequent wash cycle because that’s where they get their moisture from; so don’t be afraid of washing often just make sure you use the LOC or LCO method, have some good go to products that work for you son and keep his hair moisturized and protected. Also, I haven’t done wash and go’s in a while because his hair is now multiple textures/curl patterns so a wash and go would require me to manipulate the curls to ensure they all dry the same (very time consuming lol) so I’m more of a braids/twists person and if it’s just in 4-6 plaits I would refresh those braids every other day (with water, cream, and oil).
      Hope this helps! Thanks for watching 🙏🏽💙

      I’ve got to that point too! Lol I just use a silk pillow case now so they way he’s at least protected when he sleeps, and they way I don’t worry about the headtie or whatever falling off or him taking it off before bed. But try a durag just after you do the style, see how long he’ll leave it on for, and go from there 🤞🏽💙

      My go to oil is just regular olive oil, but you can use whatever you’re most comfortable with - coconut, jojoba, tea tree, black caster oil... I just always had good results with the olive oil when it comes to Kham.

    • @keepingupwithkham
      @keepingupwithkham  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      because I have this channel I do his hair every one to two weeks, I would loveee to go every 2-3 weeks even but his hair gets messy so quick 😩 his hair texture is fine and soft so there’s that lol it all depends on how long the style can last, but I recommend going as long between styles as possible because the more we leave their hair alone the more it grows and the healthier it is

    • @keepingupwithkham
      @keepingupwithkham  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@deliareynoso3 I’m in the same boat honestly 😩 I know it’s because his hair texture is soft and he basically uses his head for everything (playing, watching tv, laying down lol) so it just gets messy anyway. If it wasn’t COVID times I would just refresh when it gets bad but other than that there’s not much I can recommend 👎🏽💙
