    How is the new year in the seventh month? and why does the Torah say the first month is near Passover ? These passages and new year in the middle of the calendar is very confusing.

    • @DivineDocumentaries
      @DivineDocumentaries  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      @sunrayrosin7181 Great question! It can be a bit confusing at first glance, but let's break it down:
      In the Jewish calendar, Rosh Hashanah is celebrated as the New Year in the seventh month, Tishrei, which is different from how we usually think of a new year starting in the first month. This is because the Jewish calendar has different "new years" for different purposes. Tishrei, where Rosh Hashanah falls, is considered the New Year for the creation of the world, marking a time of reflection, renewal, and judgment.
      Now, about Passover: The Torah states that the first month of the year is Nisan, which is in the spring (around March-April) and is when Passover is celebrated. This is considered the New Year for the Jewish people as a nation, marking their exodus from Egypt and freedom from slavery.
      So, in short:
      Nisan (spring): The beginning of the religious calendar, marking the story of the Exodus and the birth of the Jewish nation.
      Tishrei (fall): The beginning of the civil calendar, marking the creation of the world and the start of a new year for people and judgment.
      It’s like how in some countries the school year and the fiscal year start at different times than the calendar year. It’s all about different cycles serving different purposes!
      We welcome the community to add any additional details and perspective we ma be missing.
      Hope that helps clarify things! Shana Tova (Happy New Year)! 🎉🍎🍯 #JewishNewYear #UnderstandingTraditions

    You are wrong about the date of Rosh Hashana. In Shmot 12, 1 and 2 is clearly stated that the month of Pesach is starting the new year. The Sanhedrin must have changed it thousands of years ago. Probably in 70 AD or so. There must be a decree of that decision and they are hiding that until now. All the Jews are innocent about that. Please think for yourself and become awake. The time is near, God Bless.

    • @DivineDocumentaries
      @DivineDocumentaries  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      @lourenshupkes8533 Thanks for sharing your perspective and diving deep into Exodus 12! You bring up an important point-Nisan is indeed called the first month in the Bible, and it's tied closely to the events of Pesach (Passover). However, in Jewish tradition, the calendar developed to include multiple "new years" for different aspects of life. Rosh Hashanah, which is celebrated in Tishrei, is known as the civil new year and is rooted in later rabbinic teachings (as seen in Mishnah Rosh Hashanah 1:1).
      It's a fascinating discussion because it shows the evolution of practice and thought within Judaism. The idea of Rosh Hashanah as the head of the year connects more to themes of reflection, renewal, and judgment rather than simply marking the start of the calendar. There’s no concrete evidence that the Sanhedrin issued a secret decree to change it, but rather this tradition developed naturally over time.
      It’s always a pleasure to explore these layered traditions, and we appreciate your thoughtful engagement!
      Would love to hear what others think about this perspective as well.
      God Bless! 🙏✨ #RoshHashanah #JewishTradition #BiblicalRoots

      Rosh Hashanah has been fulfilled through the death and Resurection of Jesus Christ. "So let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or sabbaths
      which are a shadow of things to come, but the substance is of Christ (Colossians 2:16,17 NKJV).

    • @DivineDocumentaries
      @DivineDocumentaries  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      @dougmohr4272 Thanks for your thoughtful response! You're absolutely correct that in Christian theology, many see Rosh Hashanah as being fulfilled through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, as reflected in Colossians 2:16-17. This passage speaks to the belief that festivals, sabbaths, and other practices are "a shadow of things to come, but the substance is of Christ." It's a powerful perspective that sees Christ as the fulfillment of the Law.
      On the other hand, from the Jewish perspective, Rosh Hashanah stands as a unique and independent festival with a focus on themes like repentance, renewal, and reflection. It marks the beginning of the Jewish New Year and is not tied to a belief in the Messiah as Jesus.
      So, while the Christian interpretation offers a deeper layer of meaning within that faith tradition, the Jewish understanding of Rosh Hashanah is quite distinct. It’s beautiful to see how different faiths can find meaning in the same observance, each bringing its own perspective to the celebration. 🙏🍎🍯
      Interesting take, we welcome the continued open discussion from the rest of the community.
      Thank you again for your engagement and support.
