I can see arguments both ways. My parents couldn’t afford to give us an allowance or money for chores so for us chores were just part of life - we all contributed to the mess so we should all contribute to keeping things clean. However my parents did express their appreciation for our work and rewarded us however they could.

My friends girlfriend recently got into the game and we’ve all been talking about that. She’s said stuff like “sorry I’m such a noob” and we pretty much universally reply “don’t say sorry, enjoy being a noob” she talks about things in the game that we all take for granted now with such excitement and we all think back on what we got excited for when we saw it for the first time.
Honestly playing with a complete noob makes the game more fun.

I do residential window cleaning on the side for years. A house as big as that one and two stories, I would get $250-300 for it here in the states. It would take me no more than 4 hours to do. A pro cleaner makes about $50-75/hr depending on job and when it's broken down hourly.
That father could've at least given the kid the $15 for the sub.

The last story hit incredibly close to home as I lost my very best friend very unexpectedly just over 4 years ago. I couldn't bear to log in to Bnet for a very long time afterwards as his account had remained signed in and I just couldn't handle it. I had to step away from WoW and DIablo for a good six months because we had thousands of hours together in those games, and Final Fantasy. If you happen to see this author, it gets easier to deal with and come to grips with, now I look for ways to honor him when I play those games and will be making a Diablo 4 character in his memory. RIP Bugenhagen.
