Nothing can beat KSRTC (Karnataka, not the neighboring Kerala) multiaxle Volvos. Well maintained, they have partition for the double bed. And very safe as well.
ksrtc and apsrtc all govt buses go inside each and every bus stand and delayed service , very poor maintenance in side from mangalore to Bangalore I traveled Rajahmasa very bad smell inside un bearable

In Karnataka S.R.S. travel and VRL are far better than govt.ksrtc , ksrtc only knows to buy bus not to maintain it. The ksrtc volvos have very dirty seats and bad smell also

Yah actually am from barasat and it's hectic specially the roads but now the roads are quite big like 2 by 2 Lane from barasat to amdanga I think but the rest of the road till barajaguli still very uncomfortable

The place u had your dinner, is our home town, Krishnanagar. The expansion of the Highway,NH 12(old NH 34) is going on here so little bit of traffic congestion can be seen. After the total work will be completed, the journey between kolkata to Siliguri should be very smooth.

Humlog Kolkata se car leke Siliguri bohot jate hai. And except Royal Cruiser every bus drives roughly. BTW Shyamoli does most accidents. Or joh Dhaba mai roka tha us dhaba mai Kolkata to Siliguri and Kolkata to Bangladesh ka har ek bus rukta hai or humlog bhi. Us road ka wo dhaba best hai. And in Siliguri to Kolkata all bus stops in dhaba in Maldah.
