Watching this makes me think you two might love a pilgrimage to Medjugorje in Herzegovina. Thank you for this. I have yet to get to Amalfi but I will. Your videos really give a real life feel of what it’s like and brings back the feelings of being in Italy. Thank you ☺️
I hiked all five villages in one day, eating gelato, and avoiding the jellyfish when swimming. Just have to hope the trains don't have strikes when you want to return to your original spot. Thanks for the video.
I remember those stairs in Corniglia very well lol! 😂 My husband and I went to all 5 towns as a day trip from Florence 5 years ago. We took mainly trains and the ferry once. We ended the day in Monterosso and took a dip in the refreshing water. It was mid June, not so crowded, but already hot. It was an amazing day trip but I wish we had allowed 2 days at least to enjoy the towns more and maybe do one of the hikes.
Brian and Carrie, congrats on 35K subscribers!!! 🎉 Well deserved. 50K isn’t far off. Thanks for all the great videos, including all the effort you put into them. Cheers 🍻 🎆
Thank you so much ❤️. We feel very lucky to be living the life we are and love our subscribers/supporters that continue to follow us along on the journey. Cheers!!

Enjoy your videos, guys! CT is a great place that is definitely deserving of a little more time... I hope you guys can make it back some day. One of the highlights of the area is hiking between the towns, which obviously isn't possible for day trippers. These relatively short hikes between the towns are spectacular and really help immerse you in all the area has to offer, and helps you feel a bit less like a tourist jumping trains and poking your head into town for a few minutes before moving on. I know that's not always possible for different reasons, but here's to hoping you get back someday with a bit more time - we visited in 2011 and it is truly a special place. Happy travels and keep the videos coming! Cheers!
We really do hope to get back and stay at least a few days. If nothing else, we hope the video gets across the idea to not do what we did and try to make a day of it. Stay and enjoy, it's not a day trip. Thank you for watching and commenting!! Cheers!!🍻
I stayed in Vernazza for 5 nights back in 2011, and it was nice to be able to see the towns in a relaxed way. We rented a small boat in the harbor of Vernazza and took that to a couple towns. If I recall, Corniglia is upland and we hiked the trail to make sure we saw all cinque (five) of the places. I also think it was Monterosso that had horrible horrible floods about 8-10 years ago, if I'm remembering correctly.
I remember watching that flood on the news years ago! Next time we go we will get a boat, hike, and stay for a few days. Thank you for all the continued support, Mike. Cheers!!🍻
Again great video, tks! We were there for 2 days last November, the weather was gorgeous and not too many tourists, which was great! Also, I agree that a boat tour is amazing, which is what we did. However consider asking a fisherman how much he would charge you to see the « cinque terre » from the sea instead of a group tour. This is what we did (from Vernazza) it was well worth it and less expensive. Also you can personalized your boat ride as you wish. Ciao!
August was a hot and busy time to be there for sure! Happy to hear you appreciate the cost totals, that's something we always looked for when watching videos on new locations. Thanks for watching!! Cheers 🍻
Wonderful and very hot looking video. We loved Cinque Terre staying there for almost a week ... and, we could have happily stayed longer. The hike between the five villages is absolutely brilliant. I do so feel sorry for the villages when the crowds descend en mass from the cruise ships madly looking for any cheap trinket to take home ... there must be a better way. Happy and safe travels!
We would have loved to have spent a week there. We always wonder what the locals think of the crowds. Not all rely on tourism. Thank you for watching and commenting! ❤
Hi, Mike. This area is very popular but also very lived in. You may notice laundry hanging out to dry from windows. We are always aware and respectful of the local community. Thank you for watching.
Bella CT video. I would have loved seeing you swim & relax in one of those gorgeous beaches but you were on a limited time. Yet you captured enough to wet our whistles. I camped in 1988 with friends in a Westphalia van in CT. Spent a week. You brought me back to that beautiful time. Did you drink their famous drink there. Grappa. A Killer. Wow! Mille grazie for the video guys, bravo!
We would love to return someday and stay for a few days and enjoy the beaches and food options. We did not try Grappa, another reason to go back one day! Thank you for all your support!! ❤
We wanted to visit the 5 of them but we were able to visit only 4(Corniglia was the one we couldnt go to)and our favorite was Vernazza, such a beautiful towns!!
Thanks for this. Confirmed my thought. Stay in Santa Margherita, and take day trips via boat to visit a few of these towns. Much easier on my knees. 😉 -Elizabeth
Great video. We visited Cinque Terre some time ago and it was awesome to watch it again and bring back some memories. Thank you😊 What model of camera are you using for your videos?
We have downgraded our gear from when we started over two years ago. We found using an expensive camera with a gimbal was difficult to travel with full time. We sold our Sony a6400 and now use GoPro 11's for most of our videos. We do use a Canon m50 when we shoot indoor videos because we believe that the audio is better. Thank you for watching!! Cheers!!🍻
Hey guys! This is a bucket place for me to go. Like Florence. Italy has just so many places to see and explore. I like the fact that you are confident enough to even show the mistakes that you experience. Being on the wrong train happens. You deal with in an easy manner, and roll with the punches. I think that five cities for one day is an aggressive day. I would like to think you get some drink and beach time on a hot August day! That stairwell walk down was spectacular!! Such views! The look of the two of you at 15:50 mark just says "tired, hot, sweaty, ready for a beer!!"
Greetings fellow Washingtonians from skopje, north Macedonia! Thanks for this nice video on the CT. We have not been there yet. I also wanted to thank you for the good wishes on our own channel. We don't do travel, frankly I would rather watch yours. We do 🐈 cats. Have fun in Italy!
Great to see Cinque Terre. I wish I could have gotten there on trips to Italy, but wasn't in that region. Beautiful photographic shots of the area. Thumbs up! Greetings from Los Angeles
We did the 5 towns in one day In November. It wasn't too busy and wasn't too hot. We started in La Spezia and went north. I thought each town got better as you went north, except for the last one Monterosso. We liked it the least. Glad we did it, but I think once is enough.
Love this video and you are both troopers in navigating the heat and trains- Cinque Terre never disappoints and so happy all the villages are open without mass crowds. Safe travels and stay hydrated with beer and gelato!
We were in the Cinque Terre just a couple of weeks ago and I wouldn't reccomend taking the ferry boats. They were standing room only, packed in like sardines and we had to wait for almost 45 min in the blazing sun to push on to another to leave Vernazza. The crowds were unbelivable and there was no proper lineups for the ferrys. Yes the views were beautiful but not worth the crush of the crowds. The fact that you got a seat on the trains was fantastic. We found that the crowds were less crazy in Portafino than the CT.
Hi BnC- Brings back memories of our trip to CT. Currently we are on a 3 wk trip. Finished a week each in London and Brussels and headed to Paris on Monday. Brussels was great and we used it as a base for day trips. Brugge was awesome and prettier than Venice. Ghent was good and had a very Medieval feel. Went to Antwerp today and it was great too.
That sounds like a wonderful trip so far! We hope to make it to that area in the next few years and may reach out for some tips. Safe travels and have a great rest of your trip. Cheers 🍻
Re-watching “The Truth about Full Time World Travel - Top Questions” from last year and wondering if anything has changed since you published it. Healthcare options, cell phone plan, banking and accessing money overseas, short/mid-term plans. Maybe things you would have done differently, traveling with geo-political uncertainty, economic challenges. Would be great to see in a future video. Until then, we are a couple from Bellevue living vicariously through your videos and dreaming to pull the trigger some day very soon!
Great question Paul! It's always a learning experience along the way. We are going to be doing a new Q & A in the next month and will reach out for questions. These would be good for us to answer. Thanks for watching! Cheers 🍻
OK. You helped me fall in love with this place just from watching your video! In all my travels, I don't recall having visited Cinque Terra. I would've remembered such a LOVELY place! Just an important advice for folks planning to travel to CT. You will have to deal with steep slopes practically most walkable paths. Carrying a suit case up the slope and steps wont be fun. We went in late October of 2021, and lucked out with pretty decent weather.
That's a great tip! reminded us a bit of Santorini where there a plenty of stairs and narrow paths and a taxi isn't taking you to the front of your hotel. Cheers 🍻

Hey guys, do you know if all the hiking trails from town to town were open? I heard there were sections closed do to storms and the train was your only option at this time. Great video, I can't wait to retire next year.
We were told that all trails were open and witnessed several people passing by the short time that we were at the trailhead. It is a beautiful area that we hope to get back to and stay a few days. Thank you for watching! Cheers!!🍻

Do they use military time, so 7pm is 19 :00? Along with centigrade v Fahrenheit, military time is hard for my brain. 😂
They do and we have to think a bit more when we schedule things as well!! 😆
I've been saying every one of the little cities wrong
We usually get the names of places wrong and hear about it later. We try our best to get it right!
Heck, I’ve been saying Cinque Terra wrong! sink-a terra 😆
capita di sbagliare il treno, non è così drammatico soprattutto quando si è in vacanza 😂😂
Very true! We are just thankful it wasn't too long before we could get off and change back. Thanks for watching 😊
