Peanut is the player who inspired me to really improve my Mac game. He already was my second main beforehand, but watching Peanut's playstyle really has opened my eyes to how patient you can play Little Mac, and frustrate opponents simply by not playing their game.
Incredible how he decided to just become the best Little Mac main in all of Maryland and eventually became the one of, if not, the best damn Mac main in the world
At 6:40ish peanut did not get lost in the sauce, ko punch kills around 30 percent, so what he was doing was optimal to increase the rob to kill percentage
My favorite thing about this is the A+ Tier Character Mains upset at dying to Mac. Like the ROB Player at 2:39 being baffled at dying early off the top (ironic). So funny.
I mained Mac for 8 years. Been out of the smash community for around 3 and a half and I’m glad to see there are still people playing him at a high level
When I first started using LM, I loved his speed and his counters. Then looked up a tier list and was surprised to see him at the bottom. I might never be as good as Peanut, but love to see these videos and try to apply some of these combos when playing with friends.
I wouldn’t really go off of a tierlist in smash, really depends on the iq. High tier characters don’t require that much iq. If you’re somewhat smart im sure you can clap with pikmin😂
I'm just sayin, but mac would be better if they let him store a down-B counter. It would be kind of like a little mac version of Giant Punch, but when he up-Bs, the height goes up, similar to Samus recovery height. The counter storage cannot be grabbed out of him like Incin tho, this would make him more playable imo
it should store but instead increase the power of any of his specials, but just one use (like limit breaker but you just have to hit one counter instead) hitting a counter with the stored counter should be the same is it is rn but just do 2x reflected damage
@@keabonhall2436And make it a risk-reward star system like the original games where you can store 3 stars max for the best version of that move, but taking too much damage will lose all of it.
As a self proclaimed “good” non-competitive player, I have had Little Max as my “I just wanna have some fun” main from the beginning. Yes, that means I’m absolutely trash with him, but he goes hard sometimes, and those are the only times I choose to pay attention to or acknowledge.
Imma say this. Whenever I see peanut ply little Mac in tournaments, this is a literal response to all the TH-camrs, or other competitive smash players that always put little Mac in the lowest tier. This is why I don't care about tier lists. Cause sure, you can label all the imperfections about a certain character and why their low, but you put that character in the right players hand, then that's a whole other story.
Peanut will never not be my favorite smash player. Punch out is my favorite game series of all time, and peanut is the perfect way to experience a little mac who fights how you would in actual punch out. Goddamn he's so fucking COOL
This man is living proof that low tiers aren't as bad as everyone makes them out to be. Edit: Now that I watch his gameplay and this about it...He makes mac look he belongs in Melee.
When i play with friends i play a series of characters but little mac is always my 1st pick always he was a great selection to the game hands down he is amazing
I actually appreciate that Little Mac is considered low tier. He's extremely fast, has hyper armor, and a literal 1-hit KO -- if he was actually high tier, he'd be broken, but instead he's a low-rated scrappy underdog, which is fitting for his character.
@@o.k351Agreed, but fitting of a boxer then it is up to the Little Mac player to outsmart his opponent. Classic Philly shell boxing defense. Minimize opponent’s chances to land anything meaningful, throw the quick jabs to throw them off, and punish the openings!
Unfortunately no, Little Mac is one of the worst characters in the game. In Smash, having an air game is very important, and Mac has a very bad air game (he ain't no air fighter afterall). He gets combo'ed easily, has a hard time recovering, gets gimped easily, and despite his speed, has a difficult time dealing with projectiles. But I would agree, Peanut makes Mac look busted and cool.
@@zack_9846I think it’s not a matter of Little Mac being bad, but rather playing much differently then other characters. You don’t want aggro unless the whiff something stupid. That’s where Mac shines, punishing that overused meta if throwing stupid ariel’s in hopes of hitting the opponent. Little Mac has the speed to get in there and smack them for it. He’s also great at punishing panic options and covering all areas despite not having the best ariel’s. I mean up b and forward ariel’s is all he really needs. As for his recovery game, while it mediocre, Peanut has shown the world that it’s not as hopeless as one may imagine when a Little Mac is off stage.
This is your most viewed video because your audience likes to see low-tier characters being maximized into this "Godlike" level. I HIGHLY recommend making a Ganon video with Rickles or Konkeydorf. And using the same thumbnail theme you've been using for most of your videos.
Lil‘ Mac‘s KO-Punch is significantly weaker in the air but has the quirk of slightly drifting downwards as you perform it, so people developed the Gazelle Punch technique(which is also a real term for a punching/boxing technique) where you hop of the ledge and precisely time Air KO-Punch so that in the very moment you‘d hit your opponent, the downward drift from the move would have Mac touch the ground, which the game counts as a grounded KO-punch (which is the funny move that will kill at 20-30%). Iirc it‘s a small window of around 9 frames to get
@@natesneatstuff8296 thanks for the summarization! I had fun reading your more detailed explanation. I had forgotten that Gazelle Punch was a real life technique, (which is explained in the anime I watch)
this is why little mac does not have aerials or a decent recovery, he has the best ground moves in the game really hard to contest with and a insta kill not to mention a numerous amount of kill confirms
Kinda wished you put in less KO punch clips.
