The Pinnacle of BSA Perfection came in the mid-60s and lasted until 1970

Regardless of any modifications, a great looking and sounding bike.

It cannot be à 1964 model
The A65 engine OK but the front brake has been introduced in 1968..
Great machine indeed, easy to ride I owned the 1969 spitfire mk4 version ..

Frame and Engine matching and defo 1964 - all the records are there. The previous owner changed the front wheel to upgrade the braking power. Engine is a A65C

Provided the crank has been dynamically balanced, they run really smooth.

Its an engineering impossibility . a pair of pistons running parallel on the same crank position with each two stokes behind each other will conspire to self destruct , which is what they do . Nothing to do with how how well the crank is balanced simply a function of the archaic design . Flat track boys blew these things up every weekend Real pity .

Lack of investment and unwillingness to change killed off the British Motorcycle industry.

@@Chappers-be7ds I get the impression you actually know what you are talking about - yep, management was sadly lacking. Honda always said they couldn`t afford to stop racing. When Norton won the TT with Steve Hislop, against all odds (and Foggy on a Yamaha) The managements only comment was that the pit area was untidy.
