LMNT is a godsend for hot, humid races. Especially given you’re training for a warmer spring marathon in the cold, you won’t have much heat acclimation.
Good progression long run! Fartleks are a good first bridge to building sustained speed. During long run, try 10x2min on, 1 min off. On at 6:15 pace. Off at easy pace. Then finish with 10x1min on/off. That will get you 30 min at threshold without imploding. It will be harder to start the offs than it will be to start the ons. Then bridge to marathon pace long run with cruise intervals (mile on/offs - work up to 10 times at MP) and then big tempos (3x3miles or 4x3 miles at around 6:20 to 6:25 pace). Happy running!
Did people recommend doing any knees over toes leg strengthening on the last? Super simple leg strengthening for athletes. The Tibialis raises have been a game changer for me. I can share some of the videos from their ATG zero programming.
Enjoying your vids; congratulations on the Sub-3 and best of luck for the Sub-2:50 attempt. I suffered from PTT really badly a few years back following a marathon and then a 40 mile mountain race in quick succession. I eventually found a bunch of exercises which really worked for me and made a vid of them.
Have enjoyed following all of your buildup series. Very well made, and "real" to relate to. I have a very similar story to you. I have been trying to run a sub-3 marathon for 4 years now, and last Sunday, I was finally able to make it happen, and ran 2:58. So pumped to go to Boston next year. Being that I will be 40 next year, I am qualified by over 11mins. Good luck in your training, I'll be following you!
Quality video production and really interesting to see the different training sessions. I’m also targeting a sub 2:50 attempt at Helsinki in May and may borrow some of your sessions 😂 Godspeed!
I am training for Seoul Marathon late March (although at a much lower intensity, will be happy with sub 4:00) - and watching you put in this work is so good! Makes me realise the importance of a proper training block. I will be cheering you all the way from South Korea through out your training and your race day!
Been enjoying your videos, keep it up! Congrats on the sub 3 in Chicago! I just did my first road marathon at CIM in december. That is a race you should look into for a fast time, lots of fast people. I used the Yasso's 800's for speed workouts and it work almost to perfection. Good luck this new year!
Love seeing all of the familiar scenes of running along the lakeshore in these vids. I’ll be following your journey. Recovering from peroneal tendinitis at the moment, but I’ll look for you when I’m back out there!
This is the strength session my coach gives his triathletes and runners for leg strengthening and injury prevention: This is our muscular endurance phase, higher reps at a lower weight. Weight selection (60% - 65% of 1 Repetition Maximum) Always keep your reps slow and controlled, 2 seconds up, 3 seconds down - Time under tension is key Rest interval is short, 30-60 seconds rest between sets. Concentration on lifting form over immediate strength gains 4 x 12-15 Barbell Squats 4 x 12-15 Stiff-Deadlift or Hamstring Curls 2 x 20 Walking DB lunges 3 x 12-15 Barbell Hip Thrust 2 x 12-15 Bulgarian Split Squats 2 x 12-15 Calf Raises
Really love how you're absolutely celebrating the 2012 playlist! 😅👍 Great video! Wanna run Berlin marathon this year unter 3 hours. Your videos will help and keep motivating me! Thanks!
Heavily considering running Carmel marathon as well. I just went for sub-3 in Houston for my first marathon, and got wrecked by the heat and humidity that day. I need some good weather, and it’s just too risky here in Southeast Texas!
Glad I found your channel, I am on the same path! I am pre training plan right now and I will start the second week of February. Goal race: Grandma's in June. Let's gooooooooo!
Love your channel! New to running and running my first half marathon next month, but have no clue do I take my phone? Lol I never train with my phone and would hate a bulky phone in my shorts lol. Thanks I’m advance!
Man this is cinematic, do you work on something related with video edition or creative content? Wondering where did you get this skill. Im looking for the next eps, cheers
Random question for the comment section. I have dabbled into the world of aerobic base building and zone 2 enough to at least understand some of the basic principles. I seem to recall something about aerobic base building sessions needing to be a minimum of 45 minutes. Does this trigger any information for anyone here?
Great vid. I don’t have an instagram or facebook or TikTok or anything but would be down for meeting up on a long run. I’m doing 2 marathons this year and up to my 20 milers now so if you need a long run partner be down to meeting up. Following you on Strava so let me know!
Your production and content quality deserves more than 3.95k subs. Here’s one more
Means a lot, thanks so much! Huge shoutout to my editor, Shua Films! :)
That is exactly why I subscribed after the first video in this series! Impressive quality.
I’ll be the judge of that. Edit: Oh yeah, I remember this dude from other videos, good stuff.
The world ain't fair, that's for sure.
Same here ! I thought this guy had over 100k subscribers before checking.
your live long run commentary is so good. It motivates me for my weekend long runs coming up.
So good to hear!! Thanks so much!
Good stuff Eric. Take it slow and keep incorporating those MP segments into the weekly LR.

I'll have to give it a try!
Oh I agree. It’s a beautiful product!
@@ahmyrmo I ordered some more in anticipation of my Florida race at the end of the month. Will not be making the same mistake I did last year.

Super helpful! Thank you!! I'm going to do this on that 17 miler this weekend.

I don't think so! Would love to check anything out in researching what to do haha - Great to see you hear, man!!
Woohoo! Indiana in the house! I signed up for the mini in May, but will have to see about the Carmel one 💪🏻

@@flobergruns Hope it helps. For a while, I was seriously worried that I'd never be able to run a decent volume again.

Great video very informative and inspirational hope to see you on Dempster one day!
LMNT is dope! Been using it for a year and highly recommend. They have unique flavors that surprisingly good, including chocolate salt.
You are crazy doing loops around your house, I would suffer a ton everytime I pass it 😂😂

LMNT salted watermelon is 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
Love the breakdown
Curious, would you be willing to share your excel/training plan? - great content and good luck
That 2012 hits playlist will single-handedly give you another 1-2 minute boost. Maybe aim for sub 2:48 😉
Okay yup. I'm training with it for the next 3 months. It's settled.

Any chance you can share a link to your training calendar? Going for sub 3 in June so be interested to compare plans
Anyway you can share your running template? I really like the layout of it!

What earbuds are those? Mine just died on me and looking for some good earbuds which can be run with and wont fall out.
I love Liquid IV though my wife swears by LMNT!
What earbuds are you using?
Been running in the mach 5 for ~150 miles, they really broke down and don't provide much support after 100 miles. How did you like the cliffton 8s?
💪💪💪
350 miles doesn't even dent a pair of Hokas. Give the old pairs to me.
Bare Performance Nutrition Electrolytes 👍
Hey do you have a template for that spreadsheet?
