    I purchased this Antenna installed it and immediately shot skip a 1000 miles away.
    Did a radio test 15 miles away on AM no problem. I’m amazed ho w well this works for its size.
    The magnet is extremely strong. I was skeptical about the coax size but it’s actually a big plus running the coax through a door. No issues.
    I’m so impressed with their product line I became a President dealer.

      Yep, works amazingly well for such a small antenna. Everyone I know that has gotten one has been impressed with how well it works.

    I have that antenna on my 2014 Mustang GT and never had any problems with it holding. I put it on the trunk with a flat match. I love the little thing and it works surprisingly well. Also run it with a KL 203 and a McKinley radio. I’m a ham but in my 20 plus years of haming and hiway driving I’ve never heard anyone give traffic reports on ham radio. I started in radio at 10 years old with a side band cb I got at a yard sale and still like to listen to 38 LSB from time to time.

    That's nice. I have to park in parking garages a lot, so a large antenna just does not work. So I take it off during the week. Thanks for the review.

    I talked to a station in Germany on 10 meters today while on the parkway using my Xiegu G90 at 20W SSB. It shoots skip! Great review.

    I use a Firestick Firefly antenna that is 4' long and it does a pretty good job of bringing in the skip on 38 LSB and it even gets out pretty good. It is thinner than the Firestick II so it isn't as heavy or bulky. I still am going to get a 7' firestick, but when you are driving around the Firefly works really good. I just think a the Pres antenna is too short to be very useful for much.

    I use this antenna right now and since about 4 years or longer on my car. Great signal, it hears gras growing and sending is amazing, better than you think about the lengh. President does a real good job with this antenna. Even DX is possible with this. I made good connections with it over long distance with regular 4 Watts on FM Channels with an Albrecht AE6110.
    I often think of putting a larger antenna on my car and then I remark that this antenna performs as well as the other ... So I stayed with it.

    Great review Mike. I own & use the antenna and yes it has limitations but, great for switching vehicles and local talking. Great match quick easy worry free setup and gets you on the air. I ALWAYS run a CB in every vehicle. I am very impressed with the innovation and technology that President is bringing to the CB world! The small coax is incredible for convoying and car switching!

    It certainly is stealthy. I wouldn't know that that was a CB radio antenna on top of your Impala, and I wouldn't know that you had a CB in the vehicle. If that's what someone's looking for this antenna definitely fits the bill. I guess it's the size that would lead most to believe that it was for another use, something besides CB radio. Excellent review. 73's

    Hello !
    The 2 Year warranty is a European Union standard for electronic equipment, so being President based in Europe it is not strange that it has that period of warranty. Also it would not be very professional to have different warranty periods for the same equipment in different parts of the world being all made in the same place.
    Nice video, keep up the good work.

    A good antenna is the most important thing about CB. For Good distance and have good modulation.Tn, The more metal Antenna you got outside does the best Like the old 102 inch whip antennas for CB. Are those new Wilson R hustler magnet mount antenna’s. I am a Old CB from the 50s now I Am A ham operator Tennessee. I Run A galaxy Dx 99 V, For 10 maters and CB.

    Like it. Wish there was a surface mount version. I re-purposed the XM antenna hole on my mobile with an NMO mount for a dual band ham antenna or a Larsen 27 base load for 11m. The Larsen hits the carport roof so it's only for highway use. One of these would be nice on the roof of the SUV.
    The Impala would look classy with 2 of them, one on either side of the trunk. Co-phase them things.

    Could this somehow be used indoors as a cb receive antenna ? Would it need to be grounded or need a ground plane ?

    • @stuarthall3874
      @stuarthall3874 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, it will need some sort of ground plane or "counterpoise" wire. I've seen a couple of TH-cam videos discussing this. Hopefully you can find them or some basic ones on antenna theory to understand more as it is not difficult to build a home-based antenna with some wire.

    • @mikesradiorepair
      @mikesradiorepair  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      +B Blod
      Brand and model isn't important. What you want is something useable to 60MHz. Dave Jones on the EEVBLOG here on youtube did some good videos covering scope basics and what to look for in a used scope.

    Thank you Mike , good review , Extremely nice looking antenna and light weight , normally most of manufacturers tell everything about the antenna , SWR , Bandwidth, input impedance , Still they always escapes the Big question , The ERP , I meant the “Efficiency” , in other words how much power you deliver to Antenna element Vs How much power the Antenna would delivered into the Air and the Radiation Angle , I had experience some High Grade / High Quilty manufactures , just as long as this one , and in CB band , The results are 4 Watts CB AM transmitters yield on Half a mile range ...

    What about using an UNUN to match a long wire to a Citizens Band Transceiver if you have a Mobile Home you know suspending the long wire between the front and back of your Mobile Home, what about a an antenna like what was found on fighter bombers designed for Citizens Band.

    I have used the president antenna the whip broke off at the base, top of the chrome tall nut within two weeks. A friend sent me this link: strykerradios.com/best-cb-antennas/ then I bought Stryker SR-A10 CB antenna its a Quality unit paired with SR-955-HPC. Magnetic mount is strong and will not dislodge during movement. The SR-A10 CB antenna folds down enough that I can secure my truck in the garage without removing it from the roof. I put an SWR meter inline and the unit required no tuning. Reception and transmit is very acceptable for a compact unit. I've purchased a second unit too. The SWR on 1 and 40 is around 1:1 and on channel 19 my meter hits a perfect 1. Will buy more. These work great on trucks, pickups, jeeps and cars. Highly recommended product your ears will never miss it.

And now you know what, they always say "thanks" to me. One has bought the magnetic mount and other one have bought the center loaded. Trust me, the Stryker SR-A10 CB antenna will never let you down. Works great dropped my swr by . 4 just putting it on.

      I agree with you, Michael. Here is "How I tested the Stryker SR-A10 CB Antenna".
      I was in my pickup truck with a (70+ watt) SR-955HPC with a Stryker SR-A10. My wife parked on a hill about 200' above the valley with a 6- year-old Stryker SR-497HPC (70+watts) connected to the Stryker SR-A10 mounted on her Corolla. We were on channel 22 and I started to drive away from her. We were loud and clear for 10 miles!!! At 20 miles we were still communicating.
      For what it is, I will highly recommend the beast Stryker SR-A10 CB Antenna.
