I got to here via Eddie Arnold, Tennessee stud. An album cover popped up showing Billy Driftwood, Tennessee stud!
I figured he was just another one of the countless others who recorded it. I was gonna move on but gave him a listen. Wowww how glad am I that I did! I had never heard of him before and was shocked to discover this brilliant performer, whose writing is absolutely outstanding. His way of delivering real tongue twister lyrics would have made Danny Kay take a step back, is just a treat!
Pure American folk music at its finest. Strangely, when playing his songs on TH-cam, folks can’t leave a comment. I can’t understand that. Nobody but nobody could surely think of leaving a bad comment after listening to anything of his!
    Absolutely brilliant!
My Next move . . . Get his book and albums!

What a gem! (And Grandpa Jones, who I remember watching growing up, is in here, too!)
I stumbled across this by accident. Y'all should add tags to this so more people can find it. Thanks for sharing.

Love this. I moved to mountain home in 1978.

Spent many a happy hours pickin' on the square in Mt. View in the 70's and listening to the old and new songs before it got so commercial and bluegrass replaced the old ballads. It used to be called a folk festival, then craft festival, and later bluegrass festival. Whatever brings in the $$$$.
