A reply to Doug Alexander question, yes there was more access to the layout. That was planned from the get go last year in Atlanta, but thanks to the good ole NMRA/NTS, they asked us to cut back the size of the layout to make room for.....well let's just say for "other" layouts! Joe's Airline modules, over/ under Passover what makes it happen, and deeper naves for the general public to access the layout to give that wrap around feeling of the layout, it's great! Glad you enjoyed! Also thanks Matt for posting. I like the camera view back in the train...it give a caboose view of the layout and train. My thought was with a small HD camera, some kitbashing on a caboose, a person could possibly shoot a video out the cupola window, over the roof of the caboose (hopefully roof wouldn't distort video.) and give the impression of train crew's view.
Matt, nice video. When are you going to come back and video the Denver Pacific? I watched the original for the 1000'th time. There's been a lot of changes since then. JR
Lol. Yes, I think your layout is my most-watched video - and apparently you are a major reason why! I've been thinking of getting a new camera - and if I do, it would need to be tested somewhere!
Thank you for doing this! I love the Sipping and Switching Society's layout. It looks as if more of it is accessible to the public than was the case last year in Atlanta. I hope that someday you'll change the camera orientation and let us see what it would look like looking out the window of a passenger train. That's the view I know best!
Doug Alexander, the side view is one that I haven't given much thought. I'll have to test the idea and see if it works in practice. Thanks for the feedback!
