Cell membranes are pretty amazing -- but it's easy to get lost in the vocabulary. In this video, I'll show you the molecules that are responsible for making cell membranes (phospholipids and proteins) and break down some VERY important terminology that students often struggle with when learning about membranes for the first time. Let's do this!
Content summarizing OpenStax Anatomy and Physiology 2e, section 3.1: openstax.org/books/anatomy-an...
    Chapters:
    Intro: 0:00
What are membranes made of? 0:16
What is a phospholipid bilayer? 0:43
    -philia vs. -phobia: 0:54
    Hydrophilic, hydrophobic, lipophilic, lipophobic: 1:22
Phospholipid up close and personal: 2:12
    Classes of membrane proteins: 2:30

I just discovered your channel by watching the Basic of Chemistry series and I am absolutely loving it.
The way you teach everything with passion and make it make sense is absolutely amazing. And I am studying Biology and Chemistry as well, I love these subjects. Thank you for making these videos, it is really helpful. I'll be forever grateful to you, mam.
