The building at 2:32 is still standing on NW36th St in Miami. Unfortunately it is surrounded by fencing and is locked up tight. It is beautiful and a stellar example of mid-modern architecture. It is quintessential Miami. Behind it was their pilot training center; still in use as a pilot training center, called Pan Am Flight Academy.

I was a flight attendant for a private charter company, and we did a lot of our training at this Pan Am training center in Miami. It’s like walking into time capsule. I don’t think they’ve changed anything inside! (This was about 7 years ago).

As late as the early 2000s Mexicana flights and even believe it or not a charter airlines had roomy seats on domestic flights in Mexico and the food wasn't that bad.
But again most people in Mexico take a second class bus unless they afford the first class one. Flying to Cancun is out of the question when all you can afford is a bus trip to Papantla, Veracruz and a stay at a cheap little inn
Beach resorts are for foreign tourists and the upper crust. Maybe an upper middle class lawyer with connections.
And flying anywhere.... well you need to also afford the hotel plus the kids meals and the grandma (even rich families are Mexican families, you don't leave grandma behind in an old people's home or even by herself), so better have a lot of pesos.... which naturally mean you expect not to be treated as a third class bus passenger.

And as back in the 'old days', flight attendants still have just 90 seconds to get *everyone* off of an aircraft for whatever safety reason(s). It used to be (not sure about today) the FAA oversaw the emergency training & if a score of 95% was not made from that intense training, the airline was *not* allowed to hire you.

I miss the flying the older 727-200s and the DC-10s. Then as a couple of years went by flying the 747-400 to Hong Kong and Hawaii was nice. Then the 777-200s for Hawaii started to be used more for Hawaii in general. I miss the crew rest beds upstairs in the 747's back in the Economy. Then we pushed the 777-300s to Europe for a number if years. Life flying was very nice. When I studied World History in college and saw the beautiful cities in the text books I always said that I want to go to those beautiful cities around the world. Well, I have been to many if those wonderful countries and it had been so nice.

Air Travel is a bit like life in general. It is what one chooses to make of it. Nowadays planes are much more modern, energy efficient and high tech than they were back in the 1960s. We also have options like Basic Economy, Wi Fi, seat back entertainment and Frequent Flier programs, none of which existed back then. Enjoy.......

Last trip I made to Germany was 2011. That was the biggest nightmare I've ever experienced!! I swear that 3 kids NOT babies screamed almost the entire 9 hour flight and at least 3 dogs on board. So called service dogs to people that appeared perfectly able.

Thank you, my sentiments exactly! I flew for Pan American for seven years and our fellow F/A's were the cream of the crop, educated, multi-lingual, and intelligent. We were ambassadors for our flag-carrier all over the world; we were there for evacuations in times of war, transported troops flew many charters, and had the best team in the air. This video was condescending and demonstrates a lack of understanding of the airline's importance and Pan Am's place in history. We are an airline family who even though we are no longer gracing the skies, still keep in touch with one another and support one another. I am sharing this with my fellow stews and stewards and let's see what they have to say! We are proud of our amazing careers!
