I ride a 2017 Triumph Street Cup Bonneville 900. The tires (tyres) you need are the Continentals Road Attack 3. Perelli tires grab every tar snake and crack in the road. I hated them. I changed them at 6,000 miles. The Continentals Road Attack 3's are excellent in my opinion. I rode over every tar snake and crack on the same roads and they just ran down the road beautifully. They are stable at any speed. My front tire is 100/90 R18. My rear tire is a 150/70 ZR 17. (just for a comparison to your bike) Ride safe and take care.

Thanks for this video! I am also just a beginner, and have been wondering if it’s wise or worthwhile to purchase a bonneville as my first bike, with no experience, and as a shorter person (with an injury)- getting used to the weight. So this was very helpful. Thanks again so much!

T120 2022 owner here, agreed on what you said about the tyres, i'm just about to replace the stock tyres to T32 bridgestone battlax. It's recommended by my local triumph dealer here for the more spirited rider. The other upgrades I plan to make are the rear suspension and converting it into tubeless. Aside from that it's pretty much a perfect bike for all round use.

I put the same Puig screen on my T120......bigger screens tend to ruin the looks of the bike, but the Puig does not as you say, add a lot of higher speed comfort. A little perhaps, but better than nothing, and help the mpg (km per litre) on faster roads a little?

I don’t know what is available in Europe, so it would be hard to recommend tires for you but hopefully you find the info you need for more local riders

I have a T120 Cobalt blue/Silver ice and I agree with you about the tyres. I am really not confortable with them ! I think Avon Spirit or Michelin are really better than stock ! Otherwise I love my bike ;) V

A really good choice of tyre for you bike would be Pirelli Diablo’s, I have a Thruxton 1200, with the stock tyres the steering felt slow and it would follow defects in the road (tram lining), I fitted Pirelli Diablo’s and it transformed the handling, it now drops into bends much more easily and is stable over uneven road surfaces, your T120 looks great, enjoy 👍

@@wivesonbikes at the risk of being a bore, but what the heck it’s never stopped me before!, the reason that the bike drops into corners better is that the radius across the tread is sharper on the Diablo, more V shaped than D shaped, zzzzz!

Hello, thank you for sharing your experience.Take a look at Pirelli MT60 tyres and see if they are good for you, already saw lots of bonnevilles with them.

My friends with Bonnies recommend avon roadrider tyres and thats what I'm gonna put on my '78 T-140 but we all ride old classics.

Hey there! I replaced my stock T120 tires with Avon Road 5’s and I will now always use these tires. Holds up well in the wet and dry. I took a 1000+ mile trip on them this summer and they did great. Not to mention about 400 of those miles were in very heavy rain. Not an off-road tire, but does fine in gravel.

Try the Avon Storm 3d xm. I have used them on my Street Twin and get around 8,000 miles to a pair. Gtear grip wet or dry. (Bike now on 51,000 miles so plenty of experience of them.)
